Any competition out there this year or do they breeze there way to an easy title? I know Albemarle graduated pretty much entire team...bishops best player is gone to nc state any other good teams left or new recruiting charters out there?

I don’t see anyone touching them in 2A! Those girls can ball!

Wish they played more competition during the season....winston Salem Christian national on MLK day is there only competitive game on the schedule

With the exception of Cherokee the SMC and surrounding area are probably the weakest it has been in 50 years.

McDowell is playing in the Cherokee invitational Christmas tournament. Should be competitive tournament with teams all over the country even though we lost some important pieces from last years final 4 team. Not sure who we play

Looks like Lake Norman from 7A will be in it. I be willing to take a trip up to see that one.

I think last year's Cherokee team could've won state at every level. They were stacked.

they only lost one player in rogers. although she was the best scorer they won some big games without her like bishop and ac reynolds

Last year Cherokee beat Bishop McGuinness 65-61 in the playoffs. Not sure how good Bishop will be coming in this season but they only lost 3 seniors. They went 27-3 last year. So it will be interesting to see what they bring back this year.

Bishop won't be near as good unless they got some transfers. There record will be good bc like Cherokee there conference is horrendous

But unless I am mistaken one of those seniors went to State to play ball. That’s a big loss.

I don’t see anyone in 2A beating Cherokee. Bishop will still be competitive and looked decent against E Surry. I hear Queens Grant should have a good team. E Wilkes picked up two transfers from Davie Co and one is a D1 prospect.

Are the Cherokee tournament games at Cherokee high school or the casino? I could care less about watching the college teams play at the casino....just want to watch Cherokee play. How do we go about finding out what time and who Cherokee play against on those days. Thanks! Go Braves!

at the casino (has nothing to do with cherokee high school). they just posted all the 40+ teams but I haven't seen a schedule yet. last year they were put in a pretty tough bracket. Insider Exposure on facebook

I don’t know anything about Holy Innocents, but Grace Christian probably has the 2nd or 3rd best team in the state.
I also see that Cherokee has WS Christian’s National team on the schedule again later in the season.

McDowell plays a good team out of Florida Tocoi. They will play either Lake Norman or Creekside GA in game 2.

Cherokee 3 peats. I would look for closest games to be Bishop and maybe Queens Grant. They just beat Myers Park and played Providence Day close, but it's hard to tell much because the rest of their schedule is pretty bad.

Wish I could make this tournament. Lake Norman girls will be there. Anyone know who all will be in it.
