So tell me a fan can't brag on his or her team anymore. Can't say they pretty dang good fast blah blah. WTH is wrong with people on here. It's a freaking message board. I miss the old schoolers who use to be on here. Hell Daddy Doug just post stats about MA FB and it's history and y'all bad mouthed him and trust me he is not a bragger. He just posted facts that what he loves to do. Some of you need a towel or even a maxi pad bc you are too emotional. Butt 🤕....SMH. Bears are dang good and have a good shot this year. How is that thumping our chest.

Sweet Jesus.... we know they're good. EVERYBODY knows they're good!. We get to hear it on almost every single thread that pops up on this board.

I hear after winning all 1A-4A state championships they plan to move on and win the college championship before finishing off the season with a Super Bowl victory.

As an East Surry fan I can confidently say that you nor me or any other fan from ES or MA actually know how good either of these teams are. They didn’t play each other and outside of that the competition in the area this year is PISS POOR. You just simply can’t tell how good a team is when the competition level is that low. Sadly it will probably still be 2-3 weeks before we get to see what both teams are really made of.

Gentle Knight...respect to the SMC...but its big boy time now...no more little 1a...Im sure some will be fine...but no guaranteed little 1a titles in this new age. SMC much respect for winning those titles...your teams are always good and represent well at the end of the day.

We are only blessed with a finite number of Friday nights to enjoy comraderies with our home town fans and to enjoy the "friendly" banter with opposing fans. So Buzz...thump on brother! Enjoy the moment...life is fleeting and each game is a gift. So CHEER loudly! Support those young men in Navy & White!

I don’t discredit your team. I think I can speak for everyone on this. The SMC has earned respect from so many people and teams because of their level of play. Because of their style of play. Because of the rings they have won. You can argue all you want but the SMC has been playing big boy ball since the conference started. Lots of teams that won 1a could have just as easily won it in 1aa. With the exception of a couple year possibly. We don’t boast about the SMC just to brag about it. Our conference speaks for itself. It doesn’t need any help standing out. Just like mhs95 said about being humble. These teams that think they’ve got an easy road to the playoff and then run into Robbinsville, Murphy or swain a lot of times end up watching them advance. They will humble you. Don’t believe me? Just watch and see. As for our SMC cousins Mitchell and heritage, better watch out for them too. When it comes to playoff time, all of these teams know how to win. Good luck to the Bears.

You guys do it every year , it’s always next year the bears are gonna be very good or they will be the team to beat in the west the next four years or we had 3 starters out and still scored 50 with a running clock or your stats get thrown up , but your not bragging . Obviously I see I’m not alone , keep warming up those mountain teams and tarboro.

Funny, if you go back and look, just about every year that Mitchell gets hyped up, it's other fans doing the hyping. I have not seen one Mitchell fan make any claims of winning a state championship this year, or the last several years for that matter.

Great Conference great teams in SMC...TBH the NW1a and MVC top teams have battled to more State Championship appearances in big 1a than any other Western Conference the last 10 yrs....Mt.Airy 1 East Surry 3...Starmount 1.....its great to hold on to history..but respect the teams other than the SMC that are doin it too.

You do know that only Swain has been 1aa in that time span. So what your saying is your conference with multiple 1aa teams have made it to state more than Swain. Lol. Not a great achievement .

PS. Oh yeah Murphy was 1aa one year in 2017.

I’m not defending MA at all he said they are “dang good” and “have a good shot this year” and you simply can’t say that when you haven’t played anyone that will be playing past the second weekend of the playoffs.

What im sayin is last time Swain played 1aa in the Western Regional against Starmount they got beat by 50...Matter of fact...Swain has gotten thumped by a few teams in the last 10 years down this way...SMC is the gold standard there is no denying that..but you guys know you gets no love for winning small titles...its just the way it is...So go ahead...make the statement again this year and hush everyone up again...20 years from now the SMC will still be the gold standard..nothing wrong with history..there is always a place for it...you guys are just below Shelby and Reidsville...thats great company..Robbinsville and Murphy are the gold standard...the other teams...not so much anymore..just being honest...

It may be round 4 before Mt Airy is tested but that 2a bracket ES probably 3rd round with Monroe.

39 State titles combined. Rville(15) Murphy(11) Swain(8) Cherokee(1) Andrews(4). Swain has been down but I wouldn’t expect them to be down much longer.
