Chicago Catholic League, Week XI
All are welcome to participate, both male and female.
Pick the winners and the score or spread.
Blues:
Stevenson @ LA
neutral field [2015] Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL) 41, [2015] Stevenson [Adlai E.] (Lincolnshire, IL) 14
It'll be the third time these two teams meet, first time at Sachs Stadium. Each time it's produced an exciting, tight score: 10-7, 15-14 and 24-21. As was the case in '90, I see a Desherow making an impact in this game. Ramblers 13 Patriots 6.
South Elgin @ BR
neutral field [2015] Brother Rice (Chicago, IL) 38, [2015] South Elgin (IL) 31
If last week is any indication, Elgin should win by 40, but alas they beat Evanston who decided not to show up for the playoffs. I think the Predict-o-tron is fairly accurate on this one. Not a lot of defense. Crusaders 35 Storm 31
MC @ GBW
neutral field [2015] Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, IL) 34, [2015] Mount Carmel (Chicago, IL) 21
First meeting for these two, although an MC-GBW matchup did produce DoS. It'll be Brodner vs the MC secondary and their open-field tackling skills. Hilltoppers 35 Caravan 28
Greens:
Kaneland @ MCHS
neutral field [2015] Montini (Lombard, IL) 35, [2015] Kaneland (Maple Park, IL) 12 Montini knocked undefeated Kaneland out of the playoffs in the semis in '10 and '11, which gave rise to the success factor. So now Montini is up in 6A ... and Kaneland grew and is now in 6A. Be careful for what you wish. Broncs 35 Knights 7
Whites:
SL @ King
neutral field [2015] St. Laurence (Burbank, IL) 48, [2015] King [Dr. Martin Luther] (Chicago, IL) 21 Vikes survived a scare by Rich Central and the Jags emerge from the CPL milieu with an 8-1 record. Don't see a lot of defense in this game either. Saint L 49 Doctor MLK 40.
BMac @ Newman
neutral field [2015] Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) 31, [2015] Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL) 21 Whoops! How did I forget this? I'm starting to feel like Beth Long ...
I don't see anyone stopping Jonathan Ward. Irish 35 Comets 17
Prep Bowl Playoffs:
GT @ SI
neutral field [2015] St. Ignatius (Chicago, IL) 28, [2015] DePaul College Prep (Chicago, IL) 6 A three-and-a-half-hour bus ride, a 40-point-beatdown in the rain with -16 yards rushing, capped off with a three-and-a-half-hour bus ride back home. If they got a flat and stepped in dogshit, it would've been fitting. Wolves 14 Goats 13
