Show of force. With China also now isolating North Korea, it puts them in a real box. Financially, North Korea is very dependent on Chinese markets and aid. Coups occur when the masses can't get basics like food. Kim Jong-un is being squeezed.
Which makes this all the more dangerous. I hope this goes down peacefully, but I'm not overly optimistic.
I do not believe that North Korea, even as crazy as Kim Jong-un can seem, Can afford to piss off China.
