Whoa..... UCLA now sitting at 54 in team rankings right behind South Florida and one ahead of Boston College. Ouch

Amazing since Terry Donahue left Ucla, they haven't had anyone close to getting them back to that level. Ucla hasn't won a National Title in football since the 1950's.

How can you not recruit to UCLA? Great university, great weather, beautiful women, historic stadium, close to fertile recruiting areas.
Looks like he's taking some projects but he has a really young team already. It appears he only loses 13 seniors off this past year's team so that prevents him from taking too many but man his average star ranking is a head scratcher. I guess not having Frost banging on doors and sitting in living rooms probably hurts Chip.

They are in the Shadow of USC and the Bruins ultimately a basketball school.

I lift weights at a gym full of UCLA fans Saturday morning. They are already baffled at what they consider lazy recruiting with no focus. I bet Saturday morning they will be livid.

Looking at their class one thing that sticks out like a sour thumb is he has NO QB in this class..

I have not looked...but did all the PAC 12 teams under perform in recruiting this year?

I think the traditional talent pools in CA aren't what they used to be. Seems to be some pockets that are under-recognized in the Inland Empire, but USC and UCLA coaches can't really just walk around the school and find players like they used to.

Add in that the SEC is grabbing some of their guys as well, although last year USC got 5 of CA's top 10, for all the good it did them.

And anyways, Kelly's recruiting classes were underwhelming at Oregon until the recruiting analysts figure out that he knew what he was doing. Give him a year or so and we'll see if he still has it or not. He's one of the few real geniuses of college football, so I'd bet on him figuring things out
