Agree. It hasn’t been liberal long enough. It’s well on its way, I have plenty of other US cities as proof if you want it.

Nope, but he did get suspended indefinitely for strangling his wife/fiancee. Did Cal ever do that?Did he ever go 9-16 and lose to a 15 seed?
Are you saying Cal never had double digit losses?Nope, but he did get suspended indefinitely for strangling his wife/fiancee. Did Cal ever do that?
Would you be okay with a UK coach having double digit losses in 5 out of 6 seasons? Even if the one good year resulted in a runner-up?
You're making a whole new argument again. Are you saying Cal never had double digit losses?
I'd take 5 double digit loss seasons over 9-16 and 2013 any day.
Keep in mind, Cal did this stuff at UK, Beard was coaching at Texas Tech and Texas. You think the playing fields are equal?
9-16 man, 9-16, game over.
No I’m assuming guilt because of all the other details that have came out, the mugshot is just another point on top of that“The way he looked in his mugshot” is how you’re assuming guilt? He may well be guilty, and if he is fire his ***, but come on.
Thing is he will outpost you until you walk away and he’ll claim victory because he outposted you. #toddlerYou're making a whole new argument again.
No one said Cal hasn't had double digit loss seasons. What was said was that beard has had double digit loss seasons 5 out of the last 6 seasons.
So you would be fine with 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years, even with no championships to show for it?
Texas is one of the best athletic programs in the country. Huge donor base with tons of wealth. Very talent rich state. Nice facilities, bice campus and pretty cool city. It's also in the big12.
Texas Tech is very similar aside from the fun city part. Considering 2 if his double digit loss seasons came post his E8 and Runner up seasons, that's not really a valid excuse.
Choked and beat his wife man! I think that's probably worse than 9-16. Also, 9-16 is 1 double digit loss season, not 5 out of 6.
Nah. But this goes waaaaay beyond basketball. I don’t want a terrible human being even if it means winning.Did he ever go 9-16 and lose to a 15 seed?
Okay, nobody here thinks Beard choking his girlfriend is a good thing, so you and cardsstink can just stop throwing it in everyone's faces like we support the guy AFTER the fact. You guys act like we knew he was going to do that. It’s stupid now. You're making a whole new argument again.

We’re past that. We’re not talking about the charges, or, at least I'm not.Nah. But this goes waaaaay beyond basketball. I don’t want a terrible human being even if it means winning.
Because there are plenty of decent humans that can win. Jay Wright comes to mind.
I agree that 9-16 is not acceptable!!! Worst UK season ever. Are you saying Cal never had double digit losses?
I'd take 5 double digit loss seasons over 9-16 and 2013 any day.
Keep in mind, Cal did this stuff at UK, Beard was coaching at Texas Tech and Texas. You think the playing fields are equal?

Second of all, just because a team has double digit losses, doesn’t mean they can't accomplish anything.
UCLA 2021 10 losses final 4
uNC 2022 10 losses final 4
UK 2014 11 losses final 4
St Peters 2022 12 losses!!!!!
Guess what you can’t do when you go 9-16 and don't win your conference tournament?
You ain't winning this one, 9-16 is the only fact I need.
You seem really obsessed with thinking you win things on an anonymous message board about basketball. That doesn't say what you think it does about yourself, bud. We’re past that. We’re not talking about the charges, or, at least I'm not.
The topic is about accomplishments and failures on the court, but since Lead Belly knows he's losing the discussion, he feels the need to throw Chris Beard's assault in, because apparently we all knew CB was a wife beater.
You seem really obsessed with thinking you win things on an anonymous message board about basketball. That doesn't say what you think it does about yourself, bud.
Your argument is a lot of false equivalency. You keep arguing about people not knowing about Beard, but it's been speculated for years he has a drinking problem and some anger issues. He is a Knight disciple.
Also, no one would have reasonably known Cal would go 9-16 in a season. So why is one more relevant than the other in your argument?
Lastly, your argument is based on your subjective opinion that 9-16 is worse than 5 double digit loss season in 6 years. Opinions aren't really something you can "win".
You really might want to talk to a therapist or someone. You seem to have some issues with how serious you take this message board. It's concerning.
It’s impossible for my comparison to be wrong, I wasn't trying to show that Cal, or anybody, had a specific amount of double digit loss seasons.I agree that 9-16 is not acceptable!!! Worst UK season ever.
But your comparison is wrong. You went back 10 seasons to 2013. So if he has double digit losses 5 of every 6 seasons, then that would be 10 of 12 seasons. Would you take that over 9-16 and 2013 (which wouldn't have been as bad if Noel doesn't blow out knee, probably would have made the tourney as a 5-6 seed)?
So, you're comparing Cal's 9-16 loss season, to Beard beating the **** out of his fiancée?You're the one arguing in his favor.
Do you think people knew Cal was going to go 9-16 in one of the weirdest years in history? How did the other bluebloods fair that year?
Sure they can, but the question was would you be fine with a coach having 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years at UK? If we have double digit losses this year, are you going to be using the same argument that we still have a chance based on those teams? Or will you be here bitching about double digit losses? Don't be afraid to answer.
It proves we had a bad year. Still doesn't show 5 double digit loss season in 6 years. So not sure what you won?
You mean like that time you got busted as being a phony insider with your Coachx11 name and then you posted a bunch of gay porn all over the board? Pepperidge Farm remembers! He has an epic meltdown every 3-6 months.
LMAO, how was anyone going to predict 9-16 on the button? what if I guessed 10-15, or 12-13? Do we have to guess 9-16 on the button? You seem really obsessed with thinking you win things on an anonymous message board about basketball. That doesn't say what you think it does about yourself, bud.

What's with you and the red herring arguments? No one ever compared them. In fact, it was a comparison of one 9-16 vs 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years. Are you honestly not understanding the arguments, or are you just playing coy?So, you're comparing Cal's 9-16 loss season, to Beard beating the **** out of his fiancée?
I'll say this, it was just a matter of time before a historically bad season was going to happen, you can't flip rosters like Cal does and get lucky every year. So yes, it's much easier to predict a historically bad season over a guy… ..that we don't know, beating the **** out of a woman.
This is a very stupid part of the topic by the way. You keep trying to find ways to interject domestic violence into this discussion, like I'm defending what he did to her.
And no, you're the one that's trying to say Chris Beard was never a good candidate. TBH, I was never a fan of Beard until this year, I thought he was doing a good job with this Texas team, but that's all out the window now, it doesn't matter.
Hopefully Nate Oats doesn't beat up his wife, or rob a bank, if he does, I got nothin'.
Says the guy that has been permabanned 10 times. He has an epic meltdown every 3-6 months.
Dude "we get shot"??? You and someone with you, literally got shot?
Exactly! So no one would have realistically expected him to have a year like that. You argue that no one should have reasonably known about Beard. Why would they reasonably know Cal would have the worst year ever here?LMAO, how was anyone going to predict 9-16 on the button? what if I guessed 10-15, or 12-13? Do we have to guess 9-16 on the button?
I've literally never seen anyone say anything about Chris Beard's drinking and public anger issues.
We have had thread after thread about CB on here, but I've never seen you, or anybody else, bring up either of those issues as an argument to not hire him, but here you are now, like a Monday morning qb, trying to act like you knew he was going to do this, even though none of us knows the guy. RIIIIIIIGHT.
I'm still waiting on pictures of Zion coming out of his Durham, NC mansion too. That rumor has been treated like a fact here since 2018, am I supposed to believe that too?
You simply can't defend 9-16, or the Saint Peters loss, nothing CB has done, as a coach, is worse that either of those things.
Oh, it's a red herring now, because my facts placed a very strong stick smack dab in the middle of your spokes. What's with you and the red herring arguments? No one ever compared them. In fact, it was a comparison of one 9-16 vs 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years. Are you honestly not understanding the arguments, or are you just playing coy?
You thought we would have to have a historically bad season because of his recruiting style? Not just a bad season but a historically bad one? That's pretty intuitive if so!
He wasn't a good candidate, then or now.
No worries with Oats. 1 sw16 isn't going to get anyone's attention.
It seems a lot of people who were complaining about "10 loss Tubby" (not necessarily you because I have no idea if you did) are perfectly fine with double digit losses now.Are you saying Cal never had double digit losses?
I'd take 5 double digit loss seasons over 9-16 and 2013 any day.
Keep in mind, Cal did this stuff at UK, Beard was coaching at Texas Tech and Texas. You think the playing fields are equal?
9-16 man, 9-16, game over.
Holy sh*t man. That had to be the scariest moments of your lives.Yup about 8 bullets through the car, entire family in car. We were mistaken for the shooters in a drive by, and this was return fire. Wife took the only hit (thank god in a non lethal spot) which while that’s horrible, we incredibly relived our daughter was spared. Wish I was the one to get it though. She’s ok now, but does have occasional bouts with nerve pain. They did not remove it as surgery would be too dangerous in its location.
My advice is get a BMW. The all-steel body slowed down the .44 slug just enough that it came to rest on a bone instead of killing her.
Come to think of it, if I ever got ahold of those idiots, I’d strangle them. They’re probably dead already though.
I was never okay with it, but at least Tubby kept us in the tournament and never had a historically bad season. Never list to a 15 seed either. It seems a lot of people who were complaining about "10 loss Tubby" (not necessarily you because I have no idea if you did) are perfectly fine with double digit losses now.

Then you haven't been reading much. It's been discussed here previously.
Where did I say I knew he was going to do this? Why lie?
The Zion thing wasn't just a rumor here. It was pretty common knowledge.
That's your subjective opinion, which you oddly think wins something. Mine is that 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years in worse. Which I am guessing is why you have never answered if that would be acceptable to you.
Having never been shot but hearing people that have it’s always morbidly fascinating to hear the description of the pain. Some have said they didn’t initially feel anything. Other said it feel like a bad bee sting. Almost all said though that after the initial strike the burning pain was intolerable. Braking a bine clear into has got to be close on the pain scale though. When I completely tore a ligament in my foot it felt like someone took a knife and was twisting with a hot blade.Yup about 8 bullets through the car, entire family in car. We were mistaken for the shooters in a drive by, and this was return fire. Wife took the only hit (thank god in a non lethal spot) which while that’s horrible, we are incredibly relived our daughter was spared (wish it was me though…well wish it was none of us). Our poor dog had to stay in the car at the hospital with the blood all over the front seat and floor. I arrived at the hospital shirtless since I ripped it off for her to hold on the wound - the one day I wore a non absorbent Red Sox shirt. It was tough (I can treat bullet wounds at home now!) but she’s mostly ok now, but does have occasional bouts with nerve pain. They did not remove it as surgery would be too dangerous in its location.

Come to think of it, if I ever got ahold of those idiots, I’d strangle them. They’re probably dead already though and that helps some.
Our Daughter and I can never complain about pain. When I split my ankle in two, I was just like “oh fiddle sticks I have broken my leg badly,” because she always has the topper![]()
You don't know what a red herring is, do you?Oh, it's a red herring now, because my facts placed a very strong stick smack dab in the middle of your spokes.
Uhhh, yeah, I have said for years that this one-and-done system was going to cause a catastrophic season eventually and it did. Ask anybody that's a common poster, they'll confirm it.
Oh you, stinky-Load and Cal, will blame it on covid, but Covid didn’t fail that team, Cal did. There were 3 NBA first round draft picks on that team.
Alabama went 21-7 in 20/21
Texas Tech went 18-11 and lost to Arkansas by 2 points in the NCAAT. Why didn't Covid effect Beard and Oats, why did it only make Cal go 9-16?
2 teams damn near went undefeated, so why did Cal struggle so much?
I think it's hilarious you keep implying anyone is doing so. You're either exposing yourself as ignorant or a liar. Neither is good.
Sorry, I think it's hilarious that you kerp comparing Cal's 9-16 season to Chris Beard's domestic violence issues.
9-16 speaks for itself, I don't even need Saint Peters, 9-16 is all I need for this discussion.
Holy sh*t man. That had to be the scariest moments of your lives.
I'm sorry that happened to you and your family. That is just crazy. I'm glad you and everyone else in the car is okay.
Good thing that particular Lexington Gang sucked at shooting. Wow.
Yep. That last sentence is so true.I credit my driving skills lol. We were pulled over going to the hospital because I was running reds (in a cautious manner, didn’t need a wreck on top of this) so my daughter had to lean out the window and yell “my moms been shot!” - figured they didn’t want that from a shirtless freak like me. That cop felt very very bad later, wasn’t her fault though.
Thanks man. It was really rough at first, not just with the rehab - we had no reason to think she wouldn’t walk again, but doctors these days won’t commit to ANY outcome - so it still was unnerving. They gave her no painkillers (as opposed to about 500 they gave me for my ankle). And just overcoming the issues of anger, survivors guilt, “what ifs,” wasn’t easy. Still don’t like going out at night like we used to. And if they had taken my wife’s ability to wear heels, they’d be seeing some Rambo **** (she was able to wear heels about 8 months after).
Thanks again. But the overall point is anywhere is dangerous at the wrong time and place!
Worked there once.Well, my neighbor uses tru-green and I have a serious chick weed problem, so yeah, his grass is always greener than mine.
You know, those bags of Scotts turf builder pellets don't do **** to prevent chick weed. I might need to wait for the wife to go out of town and slip the true green guy some cash to spray my yard, then MY grass will be as green as my neighbors yard.

How is criticism of other coaches fighting for Cal?WTF is going on here with LeadBelly and JizzLoad? Geez. You guys fighting for Cal like it’s your job. I still kind of like Cal, but I’m not overly happy with him last three years. You guys in love with him? Goodness. Good luck Jeff.
You don't know who the 3 NBA draft picks were???You don't know what a red herring is, do you?
It's a red herring because no one is arguing that. You're just making it up to distract from the actual argument.
You did? Can you cite this for us?
3 first rd picks? Who?
Both had experienced teams in states with less to no covid restrictions.
How did the other bluebloods do that year? Don't be afraid to answer.
One bad season? It was the worst season in the history of the program. What are you smoking???I think it's hilarious you keep implying anyone is doing so. You're either exposing yourself as ignorant or a liar. Neither is good.
What does it say other than we had a bad season, though?
Would you rather have 1 season like that or 5 double digit loss seasons in 6 years? Again, don't be afraid to answer.
That had to be awful. Hopefully nobody has any lingering mental affects from it, I have to believe an event like that could scar you for life.I credit my driving skills lol. Think you can hook me up?Worked there once.
Holy cow man. Thats terrifying. Glad everyone is ok. (Relatively speaking)
