Lol accusations. Wow. Anyway, we should go back to the original topic of this thread that has zero to do with a 9-16 team or multiple loss seasons that make us all angry at our current coach.

*eye roll*

Seriously, back to the topic.
Then tell that to the guys that decided to use this thread to call out all the people that felt Beard would be a good candidate to replace Cal someday.

They did it while acting like everyone should have known Beard was a wife beater.

Now, the way I look at it, you're doing the exact same thing you're critisizing me for, you are now hijacking this thread, are you not?

And it seems like you're doing it just to be a hall monitor.

There are plenty of Cal sucks threads to latch onto. He doesn’t have to start his own. Hell, I’m not the happiest with Cal but that poor horse is beyond dead at this point.

One topic. All the time. We can’t discuss players, recruits, other teams, college basketball history, etc. without the faaaaar Cal crowd showing up to interject their not-so-secret opinion. FFS we get it.

I used to spend hours a week here. Now it’s maybe 30 minutes. Reading the exact same **** by the same 10 people in every thread got old in February 2021 and here we are approaching 2023.

I remember a time back in the end of Tubby when so-called agenda posters were banned for posting the same thing in every thread.
Quick and frequent use of the ignore button will improve your viewing experience. 😎

Not sure if this has already been posted. Basically a statement from who I would assume is his ex-finance'

“The woman attributed a bite mark on her right forearm, a cut to her right eyebrow and temple, a scrape to her left leg and cut to her left thumb to Beard, per the documents.

The woman said Beard “choked me, threw me off the bed, bit me, bruises all over my leg, throwing me around, and going nuts,” per the affidavit. “I could not breathe,” she described later in the affidavit.”

He should be in jail for a while. Garbage.

Little guy, I'm not arguing with you about this anymore. I stated the obvious, you're incredibly embarrassed for being a part of the group that was called out (thus, your responses), and you can't just let it go and let some of us continue a grown-up discussion about a bastard that beat his wife.

So, shoo.

I think its safe to say that Beard is off the potential coach list unless Mitch isnt the AD at the time of a new hiring.

I think he took after his mentor Knight a little too much.

My goodness. Sounds like he went on a tirade. If all of this is true, prison is exactly where he needs to be.

Have you heard the entire story? Why was she trying to drop the charges? How do you know she wasn't lying? That happens, more than you think.
What do you feel like you don't know that you need to?

Women drop charges all the time. They don't want to see the person they care about going to jail or to court. They don't want to public ridicule. They blame themselves. In her case, she probably doesn't want to lose her meal ticket.

Considering Chris Beard fled the residence after the incident and responding officers have stated her injuries were consistent with her claims, why would I suspect she is lying?

How would you ever really know personally if she was lying or not? Wouldn't you just take the courts word for it when decided?

I’m thinkin his mega million dollar contract provides a rather logical answer to this question. That’s also her ticket to the good life …and I’m guessin she doesn’t want to jeopardize him losing it.

You think she was lying? Despite the injuries being consistent with the police report? Why? And how?
“Survivors may return to an abuser for multiple, complicated reasons and, according to a survey of 844 survivors by DomesticShelters.org, will leave and come back 6.3 times on average…”

After my dad was kicked to the curb, my mom tried to go back multiple times, especially when we were really struggling. I understood the reason, as it was stability for the family, but I’m thankful my brothers and I pulled together and kept that from happening. We were all better off.

It was a tough situation. Abusers tend to convince victims that they can’t survive without them. Manipulation is a helluva thing. I’m sure his lawyer had a discussion with her.

The facts of the case.

We only know half the story.

Yeah, women drop charges all the time, but you know what, people lie sometimes too.

There was a case in California a few years ago where a HS girl accused her hs boyfriend of raping her. He was a 5* running back headed for USC. But nope, he spent 10 years in prison.

After he got out, she reached out and wanted to talk. She apologized to him and admitted she lied. He recorded it. She got in a lit if trouble, but damn, the kid lost 10 years and his career in football.

Also, her family was given a very large sum of money from the state for the rape ordeal. That's never getting paid back.

I'm sure you'll pop off with some kind of a disagreement here, because that's your thing, but you don't have all the facts. Chances are, CB did this and should be severely punished, but none of us know all the facts.

Oh I agree, but there very well might be other reasons. We really should wait for the facts to come out.

Yeah, we all understand stockholm syndrome, but that doesn't mean that's the case here, hopefully it's not the case, because that's an awful situation.

What facts don't you feel you know?

Considering he has not provided any evidence thus far that it didn't happen, I would say it's looking more like it did.

Why did he flee his own residence?

Sure people lie, but as your example pointed out, they tend to be younger people with less at stake. This victim is middle aged with a lot more reasons not to lie about something like this. She is likely costijg herself a lot of money and comfort.

We will never know all of the facts. You have to go with what you do know and what the evidence suggest. If she battered herself, wouldn't she have marks that would suggest it was smaller, female hands that caused them? Wouldn't the angles of the bruises and choke marks suggest someone did it to themselves or not? Why would Beard flee his own home in the middle of the night?

What do you have to suggest she is lying?

Aren't you popping off with some disagreement though? And with multiple people?

I just can’t see how you’d read something like this report and sticking with the “she might be lying” approach. Wait and see, sure. But sticking with she could be making it all up seems like a big old stretch at this point.

If you think it's not possible she lied about something, I can't help you.

Just wait for the facts to come out.

Not asking for your help. Just reporting what was stated in the article, by the victim and by the investigators. I understand your take on this and agree but you also can’t dismiss the facts as they come out because they aren’t aligned with your position.

I could have bet the house that you wete going to post these exact comments.

I'm not going round and round with you on this. You don't know the complete facts of the case.

This isn't a 'How to Troll 101', or a disagreement anonomous seminar, so this is out of your wheelhouse.

You don't convict a person until you have all the facts. If you were in CB's position and you didn't do the things you're being accused of, you would want people to hear you out.

It would be stupid for Chris Beard to just air out his dirty laundry in public.

Also, just like the HS girl that accused the USC recruit of rape, people lie and you should know better.

I'm not dismilling the facts at all, it looks bad, real bad for Chris Beard, but I've seen this too many times to know that you have to know all the facts before you nail a guy to the wall.

Guess I watch too much forensic files.

There is only one thing worse than a guy that would lay angry hands on a woman and that is a guy that would lay angry hands on a child. I mean that. The Cherrish Perrywinkle case changed the way I look at these things.

So don't think I'm unsensitive to abuse, I am the exact opoosite of that, I am over the top actually. I have 2 daughters, 5 nieces and now, 2 granddaughter's. I go overboard when it comes to their safety.

I want all the facts before I convict CB. You guys are just going after him only knowing part of the story.

You seem to be doing the same thing you're accusing me of.

No one is convicting him. That is for the courts. We are just simply saying with the evidence out there, he needs to lose his job at the least.

I am glad to hear him out, but he has released nothing so far and law enforcement seems pretty confident in the evidence.

Again, why did he flee his residence if there was no wrongdoing on his part?

It would be wise to put as much doubt out as possible. If there was evidence of his innocence, he would want it out there to save as much face as possible. You know you would too.

Why would Beard's fiancee lie though? What are the similarities between the 2 people or cases?

EXACTLY!
CB may in fact be a abusive partner, who knows?
But, abused women will put up with a lot for financial security. I've seen it happen several times. She's got him by the short hairs now. She can basically dictate terms to him if she drops the charges or refuses to sign a complaint.

You're the one suggesting it! We don't have any evidence she is lying either. By accounts of the criminal reports done by law enforcement, the evidence appears to corroborate her statements. Seems odd he would flee in the middle of the night if he did nothing wrong.

Also, what's UT supposed to do in the meantime? Shouldn't they be allowed to move forward with concern to their basketball program and reputation? Or do they have to wait for a trial to play out?

Texas already has enough to fire Beard right now. It doesn't matter if this goes to court.
In his contract it is stipulated That he can be fired for cause, for conduct the administration "reasonably" determines is unbecoming to a head coach and reflects poorly on the university. This includes being "Charged " with a felony but not convicted of a felony. UT can fire him at any time, and he is done. I personally think it will be soon.

She isn’t lying. No way. I’m sure the cops who filed the report saw the marks on her. Strangling someone out of anger is probably going to leave marks.

I tell ya, nothing in this world would be worth staying with someone like that. The statistics show that there will be a repeat incident at some point.

Not reading 14 pages but IF Beard is fired, there's not a doubt in my mind Louisville will hire him once KP fails to get them to the tournament next season.

I've been here since 2013 and it's def the most poisonous it's ever been since I started. I usually always get on here at least once a day but I've avoided it a lot this year. I hate that too because I generally like almost everyone on here and respect their opinions. It's starting to be like politics where you gotta pick a side and stick to it while trying to own or humiliate the other side. Screw that, nobody gonna tell me how to think or what to believe.

I'm sure most would agree Cal has been a great embassador for UK. He really gets that side of it.
That he has, I love Cal overall and wish he would get back to kicking ***. I can’t not say what’s happening right now though. It’s been a long time now and I’m tired of sucking with no changes in the actual games. He gets credit for off the court changes and recruiting changes but he changes nothing about the way he approaches or teaches the game.
