It's extremely impressive and he's breathed new life and energy into that program. Hoping this is the year they finally break through to the tourney.

NW has never been to the tourney, that is unreal what CC is doing there.

I always loved CC. His passion and love for the game is not matched by many. I love the energy he brings . NW couldn't do nothing but get better with him there. I would love to see them dancing this year.

But unlike the ACC the Big Ten isn't that great talent wise. If Chris can keep it up, they shouldn't have an issue getting in. But home teams have been winning in that conference too.

Northwestern is currently projected as an 8 seed in Lunardi's latest bracketology. I like their chances. Go Chris!

I am not sure if anyone is seeing what Coach Collins is doing at Northwestern, I believe they are 16-4. What a great job by a former Dukie.
Yes indeed! Northwestern should be a tournament team, so that's very exciting for their program. Now we just need Wojo and Hurley to continue to improve their programs. Looks like Wojo is doing a good job, but I believe Hurley has his work cut out for him at the moment.

He has been in the cusp of a breakout season a couple of times. Injuries set them back one year that I do remember. Hopefully he breaks through this season, they have a decent squad with a couple a really good players.

He's doing a good job but if you compare his records there to the previous coach there isn't much difference at all.

Takes time to build most mid level programs. Something you guys could never appreciate. It usually take 3-4 years at the start before things begin to roll if you have the right coach. It's not relevant to compare records at this point.

You should have just stopped at the bolded part. Chris is doing a good job. Recruiting has seen an uptick and for the first time in a long time people at Northwestern kind of care about basketball. Taking a glance at the overall picture and it's pretty clear he's made pretty good strides....especially considering he could be on the cusp of doing something at Northwestern that has never, ever been done.

That's kind of circular though.

Also I would note that none of Northwestern's top 5 scorers are seniors. Next year could be even more promising. But certainly the moment is now. They are looking poised to make a run at the Big 10 Title. Lunardi currently has NW projecting as a 7 seed. Fantastic job, Chris!

Great post! Really happy for Chris Collins, I always liked him as both a player and assistant at Duke. He is doing a really fine job and wish him continued success.

Go Duke!
