Last Podcast I listened to said OU was behind regardless, but indicated there was trepidation by the OU staff. Combine that with a commit a couple days after Florida fires their head coach...I will give OU the benefit of the doubt.
A kid that commits to a school with no idea who their head coach will be, is picking the school over situation, and wasn't likely to be pulled in any alternative direction. Not sure OU (or any other school) likely had much of a shot of really swaying him.

Weird choice

No coach
Not sure what kind of defense the new staff will run
Some of the players he met, will hit the transfer portal.
A program on decline the last 10 years.

Good prospect who would've probably helped us but this handwriting has been on the wall for awhile. Hope he enjoys Gainesville and we can move on to other prospects.

Maybe he was hoping Mullen would be fired and since he was he made his decision to play for anybody coming in but him.
Mullen is a jerk so I could see that happening if he liked everything else but the HC.

I knew OU was on the outside with McClellan, but until a commitment was made, I thought OU could make a last ditch effort to land him, which may have happened.
The state of Oklahoma had some good players that committed elsewhere and at least two of them I wish had gone OU's way (C. J. Brown and Tabry Shettron....both to OSU).
But OU should finish with another solid recruiting haul. December's going to be an interesting month.

Maybe just maybe the schools that still have coaches have cooled off on him and Florida ended up being his only option.

If he rides the Florida bench why would you think he could play for OU? Just curious.
Somehow, I don't believe Florida recruited him to ride the bench.....especially since he's one of the two highest rated recruits on Florida's commitment list (per Rivals).
Do you think OU wanted him to ride the bench ?

Lets be easy on the kid. He lives in Owasso, so how many times do you think he's done OKC and Tulsa. Maybe he wants to finally get away to somewhere different. And you can do much worse than UF when it comes to the 'college' life (beyond football).

It sounds like Lincoln backed off of recruiting. He was handed a Very Strong team and you would think if he had character, he'd leave it the same.

Reports indicate that is not the case...
Reports didn’t have him leaving OU either. There is no way he could really recruit to a place knowing he wasn’t going to be there in a month or less. It all points to the decision to move to the SEC. He was not on board but went about it the wrong way. To fans in OK, this feels a little like Durant leaving the Thunder. Blindsided with a little betrayal mixed in based on the way it was done. Right before early signing day.
