She reportedly visited Rutgers this past weekend per this tweet.

She's the one that got kicked off her past two teams, at Oregon, and then again at UK.

But she's really talented.

CVS has some history with people who have been disciplinary problems. On the plus side you have Nikki Jett. On the minus side, you have Shalicia Hurns.

Problems at two schools makes me wonder if he talent is worth gambling on.
But don't know why she was kicked off those teams, so I can't say she doesn't deserve another chance, just leery of RU being the one to give it.

It doesn't hurt to spend a few hours to talk to her or have her on campus. If she wants to come here I'm sure C.Viv will put her through the works. It almost seems like between her and Bre would be mid season additions to help set up the new incoming class with since I believe there is no one red shirting this season. Could definitely help with experience depth with 5 seniors graduating this year out of the 13 player roster.

I might have a selective memory, but I don't recall disciplinary problems with Nikki. (Who is, btw, a new mom. )

Update: What I have is a faulty memory. I should know better than to confuse Nikki Jett and Nikki Speed. On some level, at least, that is easy to do. :)

Maybe it was academics. Or maybe I'm thinking of somebody else who was off the team for a while not by choice, came back and ended up doing very well, both on and off the court.

While Nikki's problems were academics, IIRC she had a bad attitude towards academics.

Left and came back a new person. One of the great success stories of folks who played for Vivian.

Hurns came as a rehab project, and was the ultimate failure in that regard.

The thing with Hurns is that she kind of got with the program, then didn't, then did, then didn't, and finally she just went off the deep end in a context outside the program.

I have a really distinct memory of her, during one of her suspensions, coming down to D.C. for the Georgetown game, being supportive of her teammates and very friendly with the RU fans who made the trip (and who, as usual, outnumbered the 12 people who came to root for the Hoyas). She really ran hot and cold.

No two situations are exactly the same. It will be interesting to see how she does wherever she goes.
