I mean he looks like he is way more talented than anyone in this team except JQ already.

Anyone with this talent should be huge upgrade on the roster

He looks like he is playing a different sport compared with most our current guys (I know it is hs game, but...his talent is obvious and he is not totally product)

If you believe Trilly, he said the hold up was ironing out the contract details that come with the NIL offer (speaking engagements, marketing, etc) that didn't get completed before the end of the early signing period. Said the Collins camp had told everyone else they were out which is why all the insiders started saying he was a UK lock. Can't find it now but someone posted the screenshot from Trilly's discord with that info. I'm not saying that is what actually is occurring but that was one explanation given by someone closer to recruiting than most of us. lol

I don’t have any confidence in Hart as a recruiter. He couldn’t even land Crowe Jr. and he had connections to the family.
I just want to know when any of them are going to pull their weight and actually pull one that isn't from the state of KY... I mean Hart , Brooks and Fueger I thought were all supposed to be recruiting wizards.... Seeing that Pope was so green when he got this job he should've kept Orlando around because seems like he's doing a fine job again at Illinois....

I thought Brooks was supposed to be a big time recruiter. I knew something was wrong with their recruiting when we started paying that type of money for role players.

I didn't know that they hired his Dad.
Seems like things like that happen to us more than anyone . Cade Cunningham,James Wiseman, Michael Porter,Crowe,Wilkerson….we lost all those guys because a program hired someone in “their circle”.

I do remember Kansas hiring Danny Mannings father (who was a truck driver) though. Or else he was going to North Carolina.

If that’s the case, he could still commit when the details are completed, and sign during the next signing period, but he won’t, and so much can change with other team’s needs and wants in the meantime, so we might as well get used to these situations while Pope is UK’s coach.

If they can’t land a single immediate impact recruit and Kentucky ends up in the NIT there really is no reason to bring back Pope next year. It’ll be just the same crap next season.
yeah this is how i feel, i dont wanna have to hype myself up for mediocrity every year under pope

Trilly also confidently said UK for Stokes, and that turned. His reign over recruiting has changed a bit in the NIL era, as offers come in and totally change outcomes for these kids.

True, but in all fairness, I don't think many insiders had Stokes breaking a kids jaw and leaving his high school mid semester on their prediction list either. That could have changed quite a few things.

Sounds like UK is still recruiting him if you believe our insiders.

Pope has no choice at this point.

I don't believe he will get more than 4 years if the results are not there, 3 if there is an all systems failure. If this year goes sideways, which is a real possibility at this point, he will have just 2 years to deliver something to prove he is the UK coach for the long haul. Year 3 would need to show a pretty big leap and the chances to add big time talent to the roster via recruiting is dwindling.

I mean you have to keep trying at this point because who is left in this class they could pivot to? But I would probably trust you or some other random poster on this site as an actual insider before I would trust our supposed known "insiders". They've been so horrendously wrong on commits during the Pope era we'd have had better luck predicting throwing darts at a rankings board, especially during the portal season.

We were thought to be the leader for Caleb Holts at one point but now it’s Arizona and Alabama leading.

We won’t need a starting SG. Junior Collin Chandler is going to have that spot locked down.

i mean it is if u assume hes going to take that leap, i meant it in a way of i dont want him being our STAR mext year
No, just saying he has the 2 spot locked down. People don’t consider the fact that recruits or portal guys probably aren’t going to want to come here at that same position when you see a returning starter with that kind of production. My guess we will be filling in the other spots other than SG and C. Those spots are absolutely filled in for starters.
