Meh, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if Zion and/or Bags (or their families) got paid to come here.

The sad part is it's usually the parents. If my dad/mom told me I needed to get paid and that they were going to make it happen, I wouldn't say a word. If they told me it wasn't right and that I only had to wait 1 year, I wouldn't say a word.

I understand it's not that simple....

There's not really much incentive for the Bagley family to lie about his recruitment so adamantly, is there? It doesn't effect his NBA career one bit and Marvin is long gone from Duke. There are literally no consequences for him at this point. And I've yet to see a player who received unlawful assistance have his legacy tarnished because of it (Derrick Rose, Reggie Bush, etc.). If the Bagleys did something shady, I would think they just keep quiet and let it blow over.

Solid point.

The thing is who paid them. This may open up Pandora 's box and the whole collegiate athlectic system may blow up.Some of you have heard me say this before. If Duke as an athlectic institution has been involved in shady and unethical practices no matter who is involvery even if its Coach K
I want the wrong to be righted no matter what the punishments may bring. This goes for every including the biggest cheaters in the history of the NCAA and that includes THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL who already have slipped through the gate. I will however still be Duke fan I've always have been.I hope some of you heel fans read this and get it. OFC

Me personally, I have no interest in wrongs being righted, especially when the overwhelming belief is that the rules themselves that were allegedly violated are blatantly wrong and or cruel.

When blacks were not allowed to vote, I would have had no problem with anyone breaking the “rules” allowing the referenced to vote.

Sure that comparison appears extreme but when you’re telling me that my son could get a scholarship to college to play ball, be seen on tv by millions, have thousands of fans, and brings a level of entertainment to the masses that makes it completely acceptable for one ticket to cost up to 5k a seat, yet my son can’t get paid for his very own signature, then to hell with those rules.

Lol. That's what is wrong with a lot of people. You think that even the slightest consideration of the idea that these kids or their families are getting paid, that you are admitting wrong doing by the program. It's not my lack of faith in Duke or the coaching staff. It is my lack of faith in human nature and the corruption of the recruiting process. At this point, the ignoramus is the one who thinks kids are free of any kind of wrongdoing simply because they went to Duke. I am with you, I want this all to be a big nothing. And in all honesty, it probably will end up with nothing happening, because the NCAA didn't even care enough to send a representative to the courtroom yesterday. They are taking a nothing to see here approach.
Again you miss the point. My point is and was that I am totally confident that DUKE was not involved in wrongdoing. That Kids get sucked in is a fact of life, and I do not know Zion or any other kid as well as I believe I know Duke.

You must be changing the point you were making before. Because this point has nothing to do with how the conversation started. I never said that Duke or the coaching staff had any involvement. That was just you looking past the point and making assumptions that I didn't have faith in Duke or Krzyzewski. Whether Duke had any knowledge about it or were or were not directly involved, any player or family member that accepted money to attend Duke would have been ineligible and any game they played in would be vacated. It is all speculation at this point and I doubt the NCAA has the balls to punish the number of schools that are implicated.

But you did say the whole situation was "sketchy" with kids getting multiple offers and then "winding up at Duke". To me that suggested that more than just luck might be involved when Zion chose Duke. If I read you wrong, I apologize.

Yeah, you read me wrong, or I chose poor wording. Either way..

I was talking about being steered to Duke by outside influences. The further this story goes, the less likely it is that (even if true) anything is going to come of these stories. I am seeing where a lot of the testimony is being debunked already. And even if they are being mostly honest, their part lies are going to destroy their credibility. Credibility they probably should have never had.

Here is another denial about Bagley and the whole USC deal. Click the tweet and read the thread, more inside.
