Ironically enough, I didn't start smoking till I was 20, quit a few years ago for about 4 months using hypothesis. VA is sending me some gum, patches and lozenges this coming week. I waste about 120 bones on smoking a month, ****'s ridiculous

$120 a month? You must be rolling Bugler.

That's lightweight numbers, Lol.

The tobacco industry priced my household out of the smoking game. I'm glad they did. I get to spend my money on stuff I enjoy rather than on an addiction to smelling and feeling like ***.

When my wife and I were both smoking - she was a 1.5 pack a day smoker - we were going through a minimum of 8 cartons a month at $50 a pop. It's amazing how much money we pissed away on cigs over the years.

How many packs are in a carton? How many cigs in a pack?

I've always been a bit curious about the economics of smoking. I've always guessed that is as much as a car payment or a decent vacation.

Man, it's craft beer for me. Go to World of Beers get an 8 oz "Double Imperial stout" for $10. Leave there after about $75. Do it two to three times a week and that **** hits the wallet quickly. Ya know, it's not even worth it really. Sit around a few pompous asses with great hair and bad teeth talking about their "business" yapping in one ear. And I'm just saying "uh huh".

This is what beer drinking has become for me and it sucks.

10 packs in a carton, 20 cigarettes in a pack. Cartons of "premium" brands like Marlboros are about $50 each in Kentucky. Cut rate brands go for $35-40 a carton.

Do you at least get to enjoy a solid buzz?

(The cigs used to give me a 1 minute buzz as a teenager)

I'm a dipper, been doing it for about 7years. Use to be a can a day but now around a couple cans a week. Always wanted to quit but never truly achieved it.

I dipped and smoked from the time I was a teenager. Usually only smoked when drinking. I completely lost the urge to smoke 6 years ago, drinking or not. It was the best thing ever. I still struggle with dipping but I guess it's the lessor of two evils.

One of my friends is a dentist...told me to make sure you consistently switch sides. It's not the tobacco itself causing cancer it's the constant placement of something breaking down cell tissue. Still, not good for your colon and what not.

My mom went cold turkey about 8 months ago. Smoked 60 years. Hooked up to a tank, and hates leaving the house. But i still have her....for awhile. She's 75. Dad smoked 30 plus years. Stopped and started chewing. Buried him at 64 with a pouch of beachnut in his shirt pocket...just in case.

Chantix, man. Used it twice and quit both times. The first time for a year, working on 3 months this time around.

If you have decent insurance, it's not that expensive. By the end of the first week on the pills, cigs don't do anything for you...like smoking a carrot stick. Tough for 48 hours because habits die hard but if you mess up and smoke, they don't give you an "ahhhh" moment so easy to put them back down. Gets easier every day. Need to eat with the pills because they'll upset your stomach if not. Might have some crazy dreams but nothing nightmarish...just vivid like an acid trip. Kinda cool actually.

Quit with my wife still smoking and cigs in the house. She smells like an ashtray now. I make her brush her teeth before coming to bed.

Funny story. My mom is a resource director for an elementary school. Several years ago a couple daycare kids were having a discussion about cigarettes when one of the little girls dropped this on them. "Oh yeah. Well my mom can smoke em wif her fwitter."
