And if he never wins another football game, he and all of his next couple of generations of descendants never really have to work a day in their lives.I agree with Finebaum. Two years ago he was at JMU; now he's guaranteed $93 million!
Coaching failure pays off bigly with dream retirements. And if he never wins another football game, he and all of his next couple of generations of descendants never really have to work a day in their lives.
Kind of funny. After Franklin was fired there were a bunch of articles talking about how the coaching buyouts were getting out of control and how universities were probably going to start moving away from them with NIL costs and revenue sharing. And if he never wins another football game, he and all of his next couple of generations of descendants never really have to work a day in their lives.

Guess not.
It should be with salaries as well. Give these coaches a base salary but the bulk of their earnings come from winning. Beamer gets 1m base but the rest of his 8m comes after each win. Same thing for the assistant coaches but they are based on how their position group performs.I would LOVE to see performance based buyouts.
Won 10 games? Here's your buyout. Win 5 this year, well, we have a discount to that buyout.
Odds are IU will regress. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds. They have all-time .421 win percentage and a 3-11 overall bowl record. If he can transform them in a perennial power or even perennial top 25 team, that'll be an extremely rare feat.I would LOVE to see performance based buyouts.

You can thank Jimmy Sexton for that. The dude set the market for coach contracts, he's not going to let them regress back to a logical number.Kind of funny. Naturally 1 of those 3 wins is against the Gamecocks.Odds are IU will regress. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds. They have all-time .421 win percentage and a 3-11 overall bowl record. What a smart hire by IU though. Wish we could make decisions like that.
Folks wanna talk about all of our handicaps to building a program. IU has all the same, and then some. But Cignetii is having success just the same.
And bingo was his name-oThe handicap is stupid decision making.
The handicap is stupid decision making.
THAT has been my point. Even if we win tomorrow , which I think is possible, 9/10 win season is out of the question. Why Kiffin and Drinkwitz can get that done at Ole Miss and Missouri, but Beamer can't at SC, is a condemnation of Beamer, win or lose against overrated Oklahoma.Ole Miss & Missouri have similar football histories (maybe fewer resources?) to SC and Kiffin & Drink are getting 9/10 win seasons at their places.
