Why does nobody in this organization have the guts to hurt Ellys feelings and put him in centerfield.

He should change his first name to Error. He would still be able to keep any monogramed clothing or equipment, and it would reflect his play this year. If he improves, change it back.

Being a Cards fan, I watched the game last night. The Cards aren't very good either. I like Mason Winn (Cards SS), but Winn has had some friendly score keeping in St Louis. I think they are trying to help him win the Gold Glove.

This season is on Nick Krall. His *** needs to be packing at the end of the year. Should have optioned Matt McLain to Louisville months ago. Sal Stewart for the Bats setting AAA on fire, and this FO just letting games run out when he could be helping this team win now. Nothing left for him to prove down there.

4-game sweep of the Cubs. Tied with the Mets for the 3rd Wild Card spot. Reds control the tiebreaker over New York. Pittsburgh and Milwaukee to close out the season. Mets play the Cubs in Wrigley starting Tuesday.

Francona does nothing that makes sense to me. Why not pitch Greene on Tuesday night on 4 days rest, and then, if you need him to, he could pitch Sunday on 4 days. If you don’t need him on Sunday, great, he would have plenty of rest to start the playoffs.

He's terrible against the Brewers (1-4, 6.88) and you'd have him lined up to face Shohei in game 1. Also, not the worst thing in the world to give him an extra day of rest given how taxing his last start was.

It’s seems like the Reds entire team is terrible against the Brewers. He’s by far the Reds best starter right now. He should be well rested, because he’s missed about 3 months. Arm should be fresh.

The Reds have won each of Greene's last two starts against the Brewers. 5 innings, 2 runs. He had two really bad games in his career vs Milwaukee that inflated the ERA so high. One of those came in his rookie year.

I think he & Skenes go head-to-head tomorrow night. That will be something.

Reading to day that Kershaw has the 2nd lowest lifetime ERA since 1920 at 2.54, 1500+ innings pitched. Hard for me to believe with all the great P's, but Hoyt Wilhelm was 2.52. He has the best winning percentage , also since 1920, of .698, at 222-95 though it helps to play on top teams (How will Paul Skenes ever win like that at Pittsburgh?). I recall him being dang near unhittable for 6-8 years running. How many P's have won MVP awards? Not many even with two each year.

Francona's lineup decisions are laughable. Sal Stewart is getting the Will Benson treatment lately. Stephenson & Stewart off the bench as pinch hitters in the final week of the season when the Reds need to win every game with Skenes on the hill tomorrow and knowing what is waiting for them this weekend in Milwaukee. McLain 0-4, 2 Ks. Incredible .222 batting average. Why is he still on this team? So much for that 'energy' in the clubhouse on picture day lol

Left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th. Marte swings on a 3-1 count. McLain 0-5, 2 K's with a mighty .220 avg. Reds do what they do best, lose to a Pirates team 20 games below .500. Imbeciles.
Went to the game last night. Drove up from Louisville. Reds 13 runners LOB. Had plenty of chances. Just don't have enough quality players in the lineup. Only 44-36 at home. That's not going to get it done. Sadly just an average team.

Announcers (Larkin as well) before game started talking about them being like roaches and you just can't kill them.

False.

They are already dead; you just can't seem to resurrect them.

Reds win, Mets lose. Cincinnati back in the 3rd Wild Card spot for now. Abbott tomorrow and Milwaukee starting a young Robert Glasser. Singer/Peralta Sunday. Francona says he has discussed with Hunter Greene about pitching out of the bullpen Sunday if necessary.

Not starting him on Tuesday may end up biting us.

A Reds win today, with a Mets loss clinches the 3rd Wild Card spot. Mets put Brett Baty on the IL today. NYM/MIA are about to start play in 15 mins. Reds need to get to the youngster Robert Gasser early. Brewers plan is to have him open the game and turn to Misiorowski later. Reds put 5 runs on him last month.

Go Reds, Go Marlins!

Reds are in the postseason! Clinched the 3rd WC spot with the Mets losing 4-0 to the Marlins. Face Dodgers Tuesday night in LA at 9:08. Love it as a Reds fan seeing them make the postseason. Also, from the standpoint of watching a big-market payroll team like the Mets spending big, making many moves at the trade deadline, deferring Juan Soto's $700 million contract, and still failing to reach the postseason. At their best, I will take the Reds rotation up against any other team's pitchers. Need the bats to show up like they did yesterday. Did not even have to burn Hunter Greene today and will use him in Game 1.

Happy for the Reds, but this team has a tough slate ahead of them in LA. This year's Reds are reminiscent of the 2020 team that did just enough and backed into the postseason.

The hitting is not consistent enough to expect a deep run. A boom or bust offense the way the Reds score in spurts won't cut it. If for some reason the Reds were to beat the Dodgers, then anything is possible at that point knocking off a giant like them.

Cincinnati will go as far as their pitching will carry them. I like the Reds SP, but they need more run support than this team has given them throughout the season to have any chance.

At this point, they are playing with house money. I think most people realistically expected them to challenge for the post season next year so anything additional this year is just a bonus.

No one expected anything next year given there will be multiple lineup changes before then. Outside of '22, the Reds have essentially been the same team since '21....a .500 team give or take a few. A massive Mets collapse is the only reason people are still talking Reds baseball.

I had the Reds under 84 wins so that made for a nice payday when they choked yesterday.

Same here, only I had over 79.5 wins plus a +260 bet they would make the playoffs. šŸ˜Ž
