Or all of that 5 star talent shuts down all hope in the second half.
UGA won, yes, but it took a last second career long FG to do it, vs a G5 team. UGA has recruited in the top 3-5 for the last 4-5 years. My point is when you build a team with Dynamic & Elite speed, you can beat teams who have "out recruited you", with the right development & schemes. Cinnci fell short, but UGA based on talent, UGA should have won by 20+... Explosive speed & shiftiness can make prototypical 5 star skillsets look foolish.. Its also a little easier to recruit. Speed is an edge thats very challenging to scheme against, and when combined with a bit more talent, would enable a team like WVU to seriously contend. Personally, I think its an easier path, compared to fighting blue bloods for traditional builds. If speed was our niche, our edge, speed & hard nosed players, that would be an awesome identity. Personally, I think that would be the quickest path to CFP caliber play, compared to more modern/traditional methods. I see Brown is recruiting multiple body types on offense, so we can attack from multiple ways, which you can still do that while maintaining speed & explosiveness as a foundation. We all see Brown is improving the talent level, just making an observation, a direction I hope he leans... Its just so freaking fun to watch too... Imagine being able to recruit at WVU's level, higher level of talent, but also built around speed. Basically like Cinnci, slightly faster & more talented, that would be a great brand of football.
