K-State is No. 104 in Ken Pom and hadn't beaten a Top 100 team before today, so this shouldn't be too difficult.

NO WVU players scored more than 11 points.

TEN missed free throws.

Rebounding edge only 29-28, far below season pace.

18 WVU turnovers gave away more points than the final margin of defeat.

Kansas State has its game of the season in shooting: 59.2% in field goals, 50% in 3’s and 68% in free throws.
Cartier Diarra tied his career high with 25 points. Dujuan Gordon had his career high with 15 points.

The thumbs-up news: WVU was down by 25 but this very very young team cut the lead to 6.

The disappointing news: After getting within 6 Huggins Heroes frittered away a season-best comeback with poor ball-handling, ticky-tack foul calls by the refs, inadequate rebounding and failure to have their usual Pitbull attitude toward loose balls and rebounds.

This was a learning experience. From the top of the Himilayas in the previous game to the depths of the deepest canyon in this game.

It will be interesting to see if this is the climb-out moment to a successful Big 12 run and March Madness.

It’s only intermission. The final act is WAY down the road.

I still LOVE this team. I think they are smarter now. I think Huggins has their attention better now, too.

We’ll see. As usual, I prefer thumbs-up to the middle finger. Let’s lasso the Longhorns!!!
