Edgy,

Gotta assume you are referring to Carmel IN who won the 6A Indiana title this year and was tied with Avon for BOA Grand Champs this year. But Crusader referenced the fact that the team was state title holder and undefeated so that doesn't fit his description. What gives?!

Nope sounds like a strong field....and one is bringing maybe the best HS band in America so

There will be three 2016 state champions in next years classic. All three teams were undefeated. Big Boy Football. Competition!

If you are a true competitor you will play against anyone! Some teams try to pick and choose their big boy competition. Go hard or go home!

Gonna take a stab at this. Not certain but here goes

ESL
Timber Creek (New Jersey)
And the only high school I know of With an Award winning marching band is White haven from Tennessee. I could be wrong but lets see.

All.... Back in 2013 when the CS8 still had one non con left to fill Whitehaven came to Springfield and played SHG. The Cyclones prevailed 49-27 but what I remember about the game is the Tigers were stacked with athletes and team speed like I have never seen. If they end up being one of the three they are definitely worth watching. Ratsy

They were 3-7, that's not good but they only lost to the Camden Catholic you reference 22-15 in OT. Gap must not be that wide. Besides is Cahokia they're playing.

Gap is not wide at all looking at the last 4 years they are 2-2 head to head.

Jwar,
Camden lost two players to IMG similar to MC. From 2013 to now they were 10-1, 9-1, 9-3, and 3-7 last year. How is that considered trash??

LHS,

It's okay you obviously know more than I do so I'll just move along. Enjoy the feeling your playing a powerhouse from New Jersey...not!

Jwar,
You are a funny guy. My team is playing Whitehaven from TN so I am fine. The powerhouse form NJ is the state champs in Timber Creek. Not sure why it is important for YOU to try and down Camden when NO ONE said anything about them being a power house. For some reason it is important for YOU to add your two cents and identify them as not being a power house. Then you bring up an average team like Camden Catholic as if they ARE a power house in your eyes. Not sure what this is all about from you.

Crusader was making a big deal out of it. Wasn't saying that Camden Catholic was a power just better than Camden. As for Timber Creek being a power in NJ based on having a title, that's funny. NJ awards so many titles they are almost meaningless. Powers in NJ include the likes of Paramus Catholic, St Joseph, Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco, The Hun School and St Peters. If you think recruiting is tough in Illinois(Chicago) you ain't seen nothing. These schools have shoe deals with Nike et al and can recruit specifically for sports and give full scholarships based on athletics. Plus NJ has school choice and you get vouchers if you like. Perhaps you should lecture me more on NJ this could get interesting.

My friend,
I don't claim to know New Jersey what so ever. Crusader didn't brag on any team listed. I know you are from up there so it make sense that you want to be the one that know the most. Max Preps have Timber creek at 5 or so for NJ. That is good enough for me. Whether they are the best or second best is irrelevant to me. The statement that was made was three 2016 state champs will be in the classic. The three are ESL, Whitehaven and Timber Creek. All three teams were undefeated this past season. Outside of that, egos are coming into play.

Now to clarify why Camden is in the classic, ESL head coach graduated from Camden High. That might clarify why they are in the classic. And for the record, I am 100% sure you know more about NJ football than me however Timber Creek has a hell of a QB coming back for 2017. Rank the team where you want, there aren't to many QB's that I have seen throw a ball better than this kid.

All.... flyerforlife looking at who you have back the offense looks to be pretty good although with the graduation of your qb that of course will be critical with his replacement.

The defense loses a ton but you tend to reload better on that side of the ball.

Here's wishing in the new year and the upcoming season you teach the "northerners" once again how it is done.... Ratsy
