Has a real shot to win it, based on his talent and the kind of offense that Gran and Hinshaw use (they really like to use their tight ends). Special player.

Last year he had 15 catches for 149 yards and 1 TD. What kind of numbers can we expect from him this year? I read where people say Gran like to use the TE in has passing game. Can he put up Tamme type numbers in this new offense?

We under utilized him last year. Surprising he is mentioned for any award with those paltry numbers.

I agree he was terribly underutilized. I told anyone that would listen in my section we need to throw the ball his way a lot more. If Gran uses the TEs like people say, I look for him to be a very dangerous weapon for our offense.

If he doubles his production and gets 30 catches, 300 yards, and 3 TDs he'd come close to SC's Jerell Adams production from last season and he was a 6th round draft pick. That would set him up for hyped junior season. Non-numbers-wise, I want to see him make difficult catches in traffic, break a majority of solo tackles and 90% of arm tackles, and continue to be a better run-blocker.

Conrad has nice potential but I recall 2 drops he had late last year on simple dump passes, one thrown by Towles and one by Barker. Both were perfectly thrown, hit him in the hands belt high. Was disconcerting so I hope to see better focus.

Imo Conrad is best prototype tight in we had at UK in fifty years.
Maybe but Derek Smith was a stud too. And Bobby Blizzard was probably the highest ranked TE we've ever signed even though he turned out to be a bust.

He must have been friends with Reese Phillips then if he purposely dropped both of their throws. (I know you're not saying he did it on purpose. But some dumber posters said this about receivers last year).

And seems like we have to say this every year, but being named to a watchlist is meaningless. It pretty much means you are a returning starter. The more names they put on the list, the more schools to release press announcements and give free publicity. I would expect that we will have someone on the watch list for running back, wide receiver, center, and defensive back.

One of those drops would have been a clutch TD if I remember correctly. However he stuck his young nose in there blocking in the backfield. Admired his efforts and he made some great catches. Glad we have him.

Me.

But then that wasn't many chances and not much pressure with the grandkids.

But I did drop a few frisbees, tricky little devils and not as much experience..
