Clair, Porter and Hull next year will be Big Ten’s Best!

Tyus disappeared or was he preserving his eligibility? Is Clair available next year? Does our OL improve to the point of opening holes and reaching the second level? Does our offense change to include open receivers? Does Skoronski clone or is he still the only one? Do any of out QB's develop and do our tall receivers get to see the field? Inquiring minds want to know.

Tyus just isn’t explosive enough, wouldn’t be surprised if he redshirts next year.

Yes Clair is back next season.

The other questions are probably best answered in the transfer portal.

Thanks, GCG. Happy about Clair's return and I think Tyus is still, literally, feeling his way through the line. Unlike Porter and Hull, he doesn't hit the hole but is more of a TinyTim approach , tiptoeing through.

Not with a bad offensive line they won't. Hull had one monster game, and a bunch of mediocre ones. Clair is good, but stats aren't very hot. Porter is the wild card, but our offensive line might be just as bad or worse in 2022.

Porter is easily the class of our RB room.

I only call him the wildcard since he was hurt and our offensive line probably will be still ghastly.

Actually didn’t look too bad in the run game against Purdue. Schmidt and Wrather flashed the ability to move people. Slide Priebe in at LG and a hopefully recovered Franks at RT, we could be passable (which would be a significant improvement).

I’m still all for trying to pick up 3 or 4 transfer OL to fill out the top half of the depth chart.

Yes, I was pleasantly surprised also by seeing Wrather and Schmidt, and even D'Antonio on a couple plays, move guys. And definitely yes to hitting the portal hard on the OL. If our OL can elevate to just solid next year, that changes everything for our team's chances next year.

MEDIOCRE??? If you're talking about his yardage stats, then OK... but I still think you're being harsh. But if you're also talking about his level of play.... C'mon dude.

I was totally wrong back in August, saying Hull isn't a true BT starter. If Porter can't go next year, we'll still be pretty darned good with Evan Hull. Hopefully the OL will step up with him.... like you pointed out.

You're confident about this? I know he was able to redshirt 2019 playing in only 4 games, then play the freebie 2020, but the 6th year without an injury or extenuating circumstance was the plan of his transfer all along? I hope you're right, but he seemed to be in the Ramsey/Raine mold.

(Happy to finally join the free board. Winning season discussion is too easy, ineptitude breeds insight.)

Good, I hope you're right. It shouldn't be lost on us how lucky we've been at avoiding RB injuries once the season began. Having to really only go 2-deep (Tyus no longer in a rotation, Cisco/Arthurs only needed for mop up) is unheard of in recent non-JJ NU history. Just need to have faith in Fitz and Ayeni (I'd think Larkin is close, even if not his responsibility) recruiting them all to stay put.
