When Clark Kellogg is doing a game and they are going to a commercial break, He gets real loud, Why is this? Others do similar. While that I am getting on Kellogg another pet peeve of mine is his constant use of "good no call" Its either a foul or it's not.

My biggest pet peeve is the many pet peeve's against any commentator. If announcers bother you and the like that much turn the sound completey off. BTW a no call is not a foul, hence no call.

I've noticed a lot of gratuitous yelling and screaming by several announcers this year. There's a place for it, but it should be rare.

Don't they normally pipe in music going into a commercial break? My guess is he does it to ensure he can be heard over the music, likely from direction from the TV producers. There's also usually a replay of a key or exciting play that's shown going into the break that deserves some extra emphasis/voice inflection.

That was my guess. The one that annoys me is the guy who does the Wichita State and Gonzaga and whatever other over-inflated team they can find out in the mountains. He screams 100% of the time, full-stop, every single play. THEY HAVE WON THE MOUNTAIN WEST 13 TIMES! 13 TIMES I SAID! MY GOD CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE! LOOK AT THAT FREE THROW! DID YOU SEE HOW IT WENT IN? LET ME GO KISS HIS FEET PLEASE! THAT WAS A GORGEOUS FREE THROW!

Relax. Step awake from the coke. You're about to blow out an artery.

What was Dick Vitale doing the WCS/Gonzaga game for?
