Class of 2017 Top 100 recruit rankings State of Illinois 1-30
1. DE AJ Epenesa Edwardsville (Iowa)- simply one of the state's best all around athletes. Huge upside.
2. WR Jeff Thomas East St. Louis- has Florida/deep South speed and is an exceptional route runner.
3. WR Isaiah Robertson Neuqua Valley (Notre Dame)- could play S/OLB at the next level for ND.
4. OG Kevin Jarvis Maine South (Mich State)- mean, nasty and did I mention mean?
5. OT Dalton Wagner Richmond Burton - 6-foot-9 OT with feet and good quickness are pretty rare.
6. WR Ricky Smalling Brother Rice (Illinois)- simply is a baller. Great body control and soft hands.
7. TE Cole Kmet St. Viator (Notre Dame)- Hit a growth spurt sophomore year and never looked back.
8. TE Jake Marwede Loyola Academy (Duke)- converted QB a steal for the Dukies.
9. DE Isaiah Green-May Bolingbrook (Wisconsin)- all arms and legs. That will change in Madison
10. LB Micah Awodiran Marist- instinctive, quick and a terrific nose for the football. Has the GPA as well.
11. DE Olalere Oladipo Huntley- still has a lot to learn as a DE but physical tools are off the charts
12. DE Jacub Panasiuk Lake Park- quick, explosive and also has that Panasiuk boys nasty streak.
13. OL Tyler Jost Libertyville (Iowa State)-still has a lot of growing/filling out still to do. Will be at 300lb quick
14. DE Joshua Maize Deerfield- played ILB but his potential at DE and physical tools can't be ignored.
15. RB Ivory Kelly-Martin Oswego East (Iowa)- easily the best combo of size tools and production at RB
16. OT Isaac Hawn St. Charles North- big kid on the hoof who is starting to just blossom.
17. QB Chris Katernick Jacobs (BGSU)- hands down the top QB recruit in this class.
18. WR Kendall Smith Bolingbrook (Illinois)- speedy and very fluid with who will add more size at Illinois
19. DB Robert Topps Marist- bigger cover corners are in high demand.
20. RB Jordan Rowell Immaculate Conception- pretty quiet off the field but is a very high level athlete type.
21. TE Logan Christopherson Lemont- great size and length could also play OL at the next level.
22. OG Trevor Campbell Naperville Central (Western Michigan)- another great interior OL type. Great motor.
23. ATH Owen Piche Neuqua Valley- has the potential to play WR/TE/DE/OLB at the D1 level.
24. ATH Eric Rooks DeLaSalle- intriguing kid. Has length and size and could grow into a WR/TE.
25. RB Prince Walker Montini Catholic (Western Michigan)- speedy/effective inside/outside runner
26. WR/S Christopher Bell Bishop McNamara (Western Michigan)- great ball skills and instincts
27. DT John Mitchell Crete-Monee- it's a big time "up" year for DL in 2017. Mitchell has game.
28. DT Caylon May Rich Central- huge kid strong and inside mauler.
29. OG John Michael Schmidt Homewood-Flosssmoor (Western Michigan)- another kid with real upside from HF. Will add more size/strength in The Zoo.
30. DB Cameron Ruiz Lakes (Northwestern)- about as quick twitchy as they come.
