I saw it too and I'd like to know myself. I could see Roy saying I'm sorry multiple times. I read somewhere that Meeks said something but not sure if that's true or not.

I wish I would of rewound it and read their lips a little better. I did notice him apologizing, and also that Roy was dwarfed by Brownell.

Heard the same. He's done that kinda crap before...

Here's my beef. If K and Brownell ( or ANY other coach ) had a post-game stand-off like that , it would be a huge issue. It would be THE story of the night. This is anecdotal but from what I've read in the Twitter-verse , most initial opinions seem to blame Brownell. Ya kiddin' me?! No one even knows what exactly happened and the default position is that Brad is an *******. Wow. K gets that kinda benefit of the doubt? The initial reaction would be that it HAD to be K's fault. Nobody knows a damn thing and K is already at fault...and by extension so is Duke. Unreal. The "worldwide leader" , as always , completely ignored it tonight. Go figure. #JohnSkipper

He is being forced to think about it by the media, he wasn't even thinking of thinking about it, before he was forced to. Ugh. I am so outraged! He uses these kids for his own selfish means!! More outrage!!!! Outrage!!!!

I know you guys are mocking some of the more extreme Carolina fans, but you can't compare a small bit of trash talk to tripping a player. We don't even know what Meeks said. And unless he dropped his pants and told the Clemson bench to suck it, I don't think it's something to get all riled up about.

Do you guys really know what you're asking for??? If Meeks is suspended 10 games then Big Luke Maye will start. I'm not sure the ACC is ready for his presence on the court. He may be the next Shaq.

Oh man, I nearly compared the two... Thanks for reeling me back in.

I always thought of Luke "the foot stool" Maye. As having the potential of being Wilt Chamberlain, on and off the court.

Of course you dont think its anything "to get all riled up about." Do you honestly think we would expect a different opinion? Sure the tripping incidents are far worse, granted- but a SENIOR mouthing off at the other team's bench?? C'mon man...We will see what happens-maybe ol Roy can at least get his guys under control on the court- academics are obviously another matter...

I dont think i can say that without really knowing what happened. If he was just being a baby, then yes...but sometimes standing up for yourself is justified
Roy's apologizing isn't necessarily accepting all guilt and responsibility on his end, nor necessarily throwing Meeks under the bus. It could just be his regret that the situation occurred and that Brownell was upset and to defuse the intensity. He could investigate and comment/act more thoroughly and thoughtfully later. I think that's very appropriate.

Even if Meeks was standing up for himself, there's a right way and a wrong way to do that. One reason the double standard of how K would be ridiculed for this (and I agree he would be criticized worse) doesn't really bug me is because it speaks to a higher standard people have come to expect from him. I'm proud of that. If Roy holds Meeks more accountable even if he was just standing up for himself, I respect that.

Brownnell is a class act and one of the best people the I have ever met in the coaching business. If he had a reaction like that imo Meeks really went over the line with some type of comment to go along with the gesture

Do we really know what happened? I, too, thought Brownell looked a little over the top, but I also am not aware of what could have set him off like that.

Lastly, I don't expect much of a rational answer from a UNC fan. They've never done anything wrong and everyone is out to get them. I mean, hell, just look at those refs last night. Clearly they were out to get the Heels....it's that way every game.

But it wasn't Roy that crossed him, at least I assume as much. There's no reason for Brownell to get all macho in an older, smaller man's face over something a player did.

This was the consensus opinion on THR after the game. Many were giving Meeks a pass on his obviously unsportsmanlike conduct.
Meeks should cut that crap out and just play, like he normally does. Roy diffused a potentially newsworthy moment. Brownell needs to realize there's a time and place for confronting another coach. The sting of that loss was likely a contributing factor.

Its already proved quite "newsworthy." Devil DJ noted its not the first time Meeks has exhibited this behavior....

Yeah i dont really think a whole lot of the situation at all. First off, Brownell was clearly pissed off that they lost the game and in the way they lost it. Then you have allegedly a player making gestures and comments at your players in your arena after an OT win? He's standing up for his guys, i've got no problem with what Brownell did- it's sports, it's competitive. I thought Roy handled it correctly too, he diffused the situation, and if you read his lips said he'd talk to his player. Move on, it's not actually a big deal.

I think though that the ACC should step in and suspend meeks for the rest of the season, clearly as DJ pointed out he's got a pattern of doing this. Can't explain it in any other way than that he has mental issues....probably needs to see a psychiatrist as well. I'm talking professional help. He should see a Buddhist about it, but not just any Buddhist, his holiness, the Dalai Lama, he's a good friend.

Trips trump everything. they're worse than guns, drugs, impermissible benefits, 18 years of academic fraud, you name it. I mean a gun, you can throw out the window. Drugs, you can flush those down the toilet. cars and mouthpieces, easy to hide. Trip. Man you can't hide a TRIP!!!!!!

Dude, you know I go against the grain a lot, including my opinion on the scandal. But why throw it in my face every time you quote me? Obviously I hope Meeks conducts himself in a classy manner and Roy speaks to him about it. Or it could have been an overreaction on Brownells part. Either way I thought Roy handled it fine.

He probably did. But this is a Duke board and some Duke fans are having a little fun with the extreme and nutty one's in your fanbase. That's not uncommon. Don't take it personal.

You've been a great poster here and reasonable at the same time, but even having said that, you have to know that there's always going to be some posters you should just ignore. Their goal is to get you riled up. A word of advice....if you ignore them, it will drive them crazy more than you would ever know. So my suggestion would be to take the high road. I think it's been proven that a lot of posters here are willing to have conversations with you.

Tell it, Show! I mean...the chit that has happened over at Chapel Hill for all these years...and a few damn tripping episodes suddenly zoom to the top of the most despicable things ever done. ESPN has already spent more time talking about Grayson than the crooked UNC program. It's no wonder we go a little overboard sometimes...and our overboard pales to the batchit craziness that applies to THR.

I updated my Roy Sweeping it under the rug gif. Added a little sign to it.
