The funny part about this comment is that no one here can name one all conference varsity player level that left GC for Kings Mtn. Most of the crying was about kids leaving GC middle schools and moving to KM or kids who were backups at their schools. The vast majority part of these kids were KM kids who moved to GC and then back to KM for high school. Most of those transfers happened on Lloyd’s watch. We have lost just as many to area teams we just don’t cry about it. Crest has been raiding area teams for years grabbing high level varsity players. One of your state championship game mvp’s on both sides of the ball were KM kids. I can name prominent Crest players who were KM kids. You guys should be the last ones to ever throw a rock. I fight back when someone acts like it’s an apples to apples comparison. We lose starters to other teams and you don’t hear a peep from us, a middle school family or some reserve kid moves into KM and we are the world’s worst. That’s my point. Also to answer your first question, your quarterback is calling kids directly to come play with him so yes I know. We are in a new generation, I completely understand that.

Again there have been plenty of transfers granted from KM to other schools. Two of Burns football starters were originally KM kids, why wasn’t those transfers stopped? If the issue is with the system then I say take it up with them. That same system allowed you guys to grab both of KM’s starting safeties with no problem so you are 2/3, not bad. I don’t think anyone in KM sits down and worry about Crest like you guys believe.

Not sure about that. Last year we had a similar issue where a kid tried to transfer to KM but his siblings still attended school in another district. Almost the exact same situation. The trend that we noticed is those transfers involving rising seniors are heavily scrutinized on the County administration level. This particular kid’s family I am referencing appealed all the way up to the state and was denied. All of your ducks have to be in a row. I think if his family makes a complete move with the whole family than the transfer will go through. I still think there is a chance of that happening in the summer.

There really isn't anything for us to say at Burns. We are watching a bunch of window lickers argue over who comes in 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the County. To put it simply, we are just waiting to put boot to a$$. All we need now is the schedule so we can pick who is first to get the smoke. They say Crest is loaded... yea they say that. The problem is they have a bunch of blanks. MEANWHILE over here in tha Dale were packing hollow points. LOADED is an understatement. Our baseball team has a really good chance to do well. Honestly West Lincoln is the one school I'm the most happy about seeing gone from our old conference. They're one of those teams that's just the thorn in your side.

We have an argument, Shelby on the other hand does not. We are exactly where we should be Classification wise. We had 48 on Varsity last season and that includes a ton from JV moved up. Crest, KM and Shelby have the numbers. Shelby had 61 on Varsity this year and led the County in numbers even though they are the smallest school. They are 2 students away from 4A and did not ask to play up. We would be dumb to go to 5A with our numbers. I also know for a fact that Burns could not move to a different conference unless Shelby went as well so it had to be a package deal. You take out Highland Tech and Cherryville and it's much better. That gives us two more non conference games to play other teams but it won't happen now.
