People do not hate on Shelby or Shelby's success. They just hate you.
You would not even have this thread if it were not for Shelby’s success.
You know it. You have admitted it.
Now you don’t like it because this week, The Dynasty crashes your party…again.
A county rival team, 2 classification above us (400-500 more students), defeats Shelby by only 7 points in the second game of the season.
That team is now playing for the 5A State Title.
And you want to beat your chest. Go ahead.
Shelby holds the all time wins lead over Crest.
Shelby has multiple consecutive year wins over Crest. More than 4 consecutive.
Shelby beat Crest 3 out of the 5 years surrounding Crest’s 1994 and 1996 4A Title years. And Shelby was at low 3A and then 2A student numbers.
We pull for Crest.
We have family members that are Crest alums.
You haters will hate. But we shove these numbers in your face because we have to.
There are people viewing everyday that are unaware of the Shelby Football Dynasty.
No apologies.
And if you just hate our style, we don’t care.
We are not on here to talk about eating, chewing, deer meat, and your mother.

True. We said we’d kill them. We’d have destroyed Eastern Randolph too.But look at the last 3 teams we played. Shelby couldn’t beat any of them. And you could not beat us.

I can’t help to think about how this upcoming weekend could have turned out for CC overall. Cleveland County has four teams in four different divisions currently. Two are in their respective state championship games and both will be favored to win. Two went out in the 3rd round. Burns could have easily been in a state championship game this year if they had received one break. Kings Mtn lost FIVE returning starters to transfer and their OC late that drastically impacted their season. Five key starters at that. This made KM have to go extremely young in key positions which hurt depth, strength, and handling adversity for KM. I thought this season once the realignment was settled that CC had a chance to do something historic with placing every team in a western final with the possibility of placing all four county teams in state title games. It would have been glorious and a culmination of what CC football is in this state. Good luck Shelby and Crest next week as you represent the county on the biggest stage in the state.

Well said bro! The worst thing the state can do is keep us all in different classes. We may beat the piss out of each other next year in the regular season but I could see it happening next year with what I know about all 4. You will have players coming and going like normal but the core of all 4 teams will be dangerous.

He was in the booth for the Hickory game brother. God took something pretty bad and made something spectacular out of it.
I heard he still had to go a ways but he’s doing much better.
I am GLAD for the CREST ALLSTARS TEAM and there FANS that they have a good FOOTBALL TEAM this year after SEVERAL YEARS of just being MEDIOCRE.
Hello everybody! This is your old pal Smash here. For some reason I lost my ID when I logged back on after my hospital vacation. Seriously, I want to say thank you for all the prayers and well wishes during and unbelievable tough time. I had pretty much gone home to the Lord but thanks to the Dr's and nurses at the Shelby hospital and God not quite done with me, I am still here. The Dr said they just felt like that it was the perfect storm that led to me being put on a ventilator, feeding tube, and 23 days in ICU. I'm still working to get myself back. Dealing with OT, PT, and a nurse visit each week but I feel stronger each day with the good Lord's help. A big thank you to my Preps friends and your kind words. This place can get a little wild but it sure is fun, and at the end of the day we really care about each other.
Now to football...I am so happy for Greg Lloyd! He is getting a much deserved shot at a state title. On a side night, I could not of been more happy or humbled when Coach Lloyd and Trey Albright showed up in my hospital room with a game ball from the KM game. Another shout out to Brad Levine. In 40 years of coaching football, this is his first title game. Sure is good to be back on the big stage for Crest. As far as Shelby, they are just doing Shelby things and trying for yet another state title.
I truly think CC has a legit shot at pulling a 4 of 4 if we stay in 4 classes. A little luck and Burns is there this year.
Go bring home that title Chargers and Golden Lions!

Congratulations to Shelby's Jack Hollifield and Santana Hopper for making the College football playoffs. Both are starters for Tulane and they will take on Ole Miss.
