It’s awesome isn’t it … I know some kids that are on the team so I have been going up this year and I’m truly impressed with the talent on the team. Also a good friend of mine said you were a great guy so I would like to say hello sometime

. - From its opening in 1971, North Gaston High School has built a reputation as a great school. Building upon its rich history, North Gaston’s future holds much promise for the schools students, staff, community and several players on the Kings Mtn roster.
- Upon opening, the school mascot was changed from the Dallas Yellow Jackets to the North Gaston Wildcats. This is quite common and some students North Gaston even adopt the King Mountain's mascot. Generally after transferring to play football.
- North Gaston's student section calls themselves the NOGA Nuts and this is painted on the home side stands. In 2017, North Gaston had scheduled East Rutherford for homecoming. The night before the game someone snuck into the stadium and painted over the GA. That night the home stands read, NO NUTS.
- North Gaston's last State Championship in Football was.., just kidding they've only made the playoffs twice since 1971.
