I know I am a Kings Mountain fan so I know I am bias toward Kings Mountain but this was called roughing the passer in the middle school championship game yesterday. I was wanting to see other peoples thoughts.
The defender stayed high the whole time to make the tackle. I would say in today’s game that is going to be a personal foul more times than not and at the middle school level go ahead and prepare them for the future and make that call.
I think if it’s a better looking form tackle, it probably doesn’t get flagged given the timing The qbs momentum on the run created some of the impact. The staying high part was the determining factor, IMO.
Soft call.. Like usual. Refs being stupid. That's a football play, nothing malicious. Never touched the head or neck.

It would get called in college and NFL. Seems they let more slide in High School. My opinion is if a QB is scrambling like that he's a runner.

The old school in me thinks it should be a no call but in today’s football you will get that call more often than not. He went high on the qb and that is what got the flag. Not saying I agree but I’m not surprised.

In my opinion Ledbetter was the last of the generation. After he left the game started becoming much softer. He would absolutely destroy a receiver.

Just want to take a moment to thank the NCHSAA for this amazing conference. Thanks for keeping Cherryville and HT in it. Imagine if they took them out and let us have 2 more non-conference games that brought a crowd. The thought of that is insane so I’m really glad they used their brains with the decisions they made. They only had 5 tries so way to use the opportunities.
I guess KTC is punishing me..... Shelby game started off nice for the first drive, now i can hear two different games coming through aufio at the same time.... I guess they are too busy sucking the marrow from the frog leg friday to care.....

They are young , I mean the KM middle team won a title this week and some were called up to play Friday

Poor Shutdown went a week ago from talking how they were going to dog walk Ashbrook to now getting shutout by a below than average SP defense

It was in honor of Coach Jim Taylor who passed away within the last week... He ran the wishbone for years... first play of game we lined up in the wishbone to honor him.... Players wore the old tube socks with stripes and taped their pads like in the old Shelby days
Coach was a legend in these parts and a wonderful human being... I got chills when they lined up in the wishbone to honor him
Made my night reading that. Jim was a good man.
