I just learned that before his 8th grade year, Kings Mountain Middle school receiver Tony Boyd Jr also had his first football offer. He was one of six 7th graders in NC to hold an offer, along with the QB Jordan Jenkins now at KM. Jenkins is winning multiple MVPs at prestigious camp such as Under Armor. So had to give props to the youngins too.

How is that QB battle going to shake out? I know Jenkins is the future, but is he the present?

I honestly have no clue...only have seen what he has done online through social media. Scouting reports are very high on him and comparisons from writers to Chris Leak with his game. He seems constantly to be working at getting better at the qb position and has been working with some pros. Ill say this, if he comes in and has the mentality that he belongs up top, he can win the qb battle. Hard for an 8th grader moving into high school at a new location to have that mindset, but that and early off season reps with the skills position receivers is key. The bigger issue is, who will be brought in to lead the offense. Could you imagine what someone like Beam(come on down) could do as a coordinator with this qbs high IQ and multiple receivers with offers. (Hear another high profile 8th grade receiver will be transferring in also). The county is going to stay flooded with college coaches for the foreseeable future.

Sounds like the future is bright no matter who the QB is.

Crazy thing is I just found out about the kid last week and had no clue he was coming this way. On a scouting report I saw, he was 6'3 and 185lbs and some of the best blockers in the country for his age group, couldn't handle him at the camps.
This one was in the works for awhile. There are a couple of more young kids that will join this incoming freshmen group in June.

Yeah, I figured at least a couple would be coming. You think the goal is 1 year JV for most or throw them in the fire? Hopefully someone starts them and all the 8th graders in the weight room ASAP.
