This a really good possibility for sure, it will come down to QB position for all 4 schools for sure.

Based on Jamboree performances, all 4 should have solid QB play.

He knew he wouldn't start over Max or Mari coming back. One would think he was told he would be on Varsity if he made the move only to be told otherwise when he got there. If it was easy to get on the field he would have stayed from the get go. Always wanted to play where his dad did and wear the number. That changed real quick for sure. I thought he would have been on JV or 8 quartered at Burns regardless.

He would not have seen playing time on varsity at Crest or Burns this season. Typical new generation kid looking for instant gratification. Should be 365’d in Cleveland County for moving back and forth.
His best chance to play varsity football this season is in Rutherford county. TJ always looking for bodies.

Another season begins and it’s rivalry week In Cleveland County, so it’s time to set the record straight again for all those following North Carolina high school football.
It would be simple enough to say that, once again, the Golden Lions are the defending football state champions, having performed in an astounding record setting victory in the Championship Game, provided the State Player of the Year quarterback, and held the State Championship crown for 8 OF THE LAST 13 seasons !
Amazing.

You would think that our green- headed county stepchild Crest faithful, with this thread creator crestrulz and his disciples, would actually show proper respect to the NC all -time wins leader who actually put them and has kept them on the state football map.
We like Crest. We pull for them.
We congratulated them on their 7 th State Title last season. We were there.
We hope they win many more.
It IS good for the county. We pull for Burns and KM and have attended their non-Shelby playoff games.

Unfortunately, several prominent Crest fans flame the Shelby hate and, in doing so, look very foolish and petty…and jealous.
They will never have the 100 plus year winning tradition in our lifetimes. Impossible, time alone will not permit it.
But even with that stated, Shelby has won Championship Titles in each of the last seven decades Crest has existed. 19 overall in that period. They can’t go back and do that.
No one can. And no one matches that accomplishment. Not even close.

So all the haters at Crest have for now is 4 straight wins., and all were very competitive
And they milk the heck out of that one, which is so silly.
Crest did not defeat Shelby in matchups from 1968 to 1978.
Shelby has won 5 in a row since then.
Crest has won 4 in a row before.
In a stretch 10 years ago Shelby won 5 of 6.
In the last 22 years it’s Crest 13- Shelby 9.
The entire series is 30-24-1 in Shelby’s favor.
It is safe to say the series will always hover around 50-50 in summary.
That’s a TRUE RIVALRY. It’s what you want.

But we will leave you with this thought.
Shelby has around 800 students.
Crest has around 1200 students.
That means Crest has 50% MORE students to pull from in the most football talented county in NC. KM has more.
Shelby plays up 2 and even 3 classes every year.
Crest played…Weddington.
