I would send my children where they're supposed to go.....where they live (within the school district). All the excuses for the recruiting, enticing kids, etc. is all background noise. At the base level....it is due to a bunch of parents who THINK their kid is better than he is. That's the truth. If he WERE that good....just stay wherever you're at and he will lift those around him.

I dont think shutdown even came anywhere close in saying KM recruits, just saying smart families looking for a better opportunity will look to move elsewhere and KM happens to be a close option. You say you wouldn't move your kid for a better opportunity, why not if that is a part of their goal in moving to the next level? In reality, the thinking if you are good enough they will find you isn't true. Ex..I went and seen a Cherryville game and they have 3 or 4 players that if they were on a different team would have offers right now.

Shutdown you hope and you dream.....and while you're doing that you have been getting busted in the mouth by SP football for about 50 years. You wish SC, who does similar stuff as KM, could compete. If they could.....they would. They should schedule SP and play games on the field and find out. Yall need to make sure you aren't the fourth best program in Cleveland County.....wait - maybe fifth best as I hear a lot about Burns Middle School being undefeated year.

If it is the low level of competition a college coach might be worried about....he would encourage to show at one of the 100 combine/money rackets that exist....but would still judge the kid off what he could do vs. legit competition (Shelby) at the very least.

Yep Cramer has been a doormat for most every sport since their inception way way way back in 2013 (man that was a long time ago). However I did a little research and since this is the Cleveland County thread, I looked and seen how Crest did against Shelby in football the first 10-12 years after Crest was opened. I’m pretty sure I don’t even have to give those #’s because everyone on here knows. However look at that rivalry now. The SP folks know that it is a different day today than it was 2-3 years ago. That is why they keep bringing SC up on the Gaston County thread under so many different handles that were created before I was ever on here (don’t believe me do the research). We like the free publicity.

As far as recruiting goes. I would love for SP to quit whining about something that isn’t changing (kids switching schools) and go after kids if you think you can get them. I personally don’t think you can. Prove me wrong if you can. Otherwise quit making the same excuse.

Before you write it we all know SC has never beaten SP since way back in 2013…..maybe the comebacks I get for this post will be more innovative than your play calling (which kids are lining up to go play in)…..

An offer is an offer if its paying or reducing your college expenses...everyone isn't big school recruits because of a number of factors such as player size. So looking down on that Hampton, offer means you would rather a player not accept and begin life in debt if they chose the college route. Of course KM would love a championship but I would put there % of senior starter players that go on to college against almost anyone. And the big one is the % of those players that actually graduates. I've said it before KM typically sends 10-12 on scholarship every year if they were senior starters. I've been dealing with college coaches since 2014, unless you are actually talking with them, you wouldnt be informed on how they make moves now. As said above...switching schools isn't recruiting, just as me saying saying if they was at another school they would have offers, other schools could have been SP.

So you admit the recruiting (not that it's a secret). Now admit how bad at it you all are due to ZERO legit championships.
SP didn't grab anybody. Two things the fullback position at SP since 99 has a history of: 1) guaranteed yardage due to system 2)not the best athlete/probably RB on the team plays it.
As evidenced by over 25 years in this offense, they can put about anybody there and the offense will work.

Where did I say anything about recruiting? Just when I thought you had turned a corner in your remedial mindset, your slow side appears again..

No one can control what parents decide to do in their own household or where parents decide to move when buying homes. It’s called living in America. You are really about to be sick because KM has built hundreds of homes in the last three years with more planned. Should those homes only be sold to the hometown people?

First let me say that Hampton University plays football at the D1 level and are in the same conference with Rhode Island, Campbell, Elon, etc. Someone who has never played sports should never try to diss any college level of sports. You are an ******* for that and a weak one at that. You worry more about KM and CC than we ever think of you. The purple people eaters are the best team in Gaston County for the near future so deal with it. SP has nothing in the cupboards after this season. You guys will be running from Cramer, Ashbrook, and Huss after this season.

I agree with you 1000% that SP doesn’t have to or need to prove to me anything about the way they run their program. I would however say that the excuses as to why other programs win get a little stale. How about don’t complain about something that is open for the Big Red to do. We all know school choice is coming one day where this argument will be null and void anyway.

I don’t have to make anything up. It is what it is. SP will fall off after this season until the current Belmont 8th grade class are high school juniors if those families stay. There is nothing in the SP pipeline after this season for awhile.

Hahaha…maybe…but for everything (and there are many) I disagree with young Deboer on, he is right that SC is going to have to start beating SP to do this hostile takeover of Gaston County. I will say we have the right guy in place to make that happen and I hope that starts next year by getting them back on the schedule. However for this year we will just control what we can and hopefully have a very successful year.

We played TC in the playoffs last season and they return most of that team. The qb for TC is a playmaker. SP has to get him on the ground or it will be a long night. TC struggled defending SP last year. Thats the only time TC see that type of offense.
