Hope you have a great time! The last time I was in Munich was in 1972 when the Olympic games were held there. I actually talked to Dan Gable about 45 minutes before he went out to beat the Russian for the gold medal. After the final matches were over, I went over and shook hands with Alexander Medved and congratulated him after he had won his 3rd gold medal. A very memorable evening to say the least.
Saw that this morning. Crazy to think that we have 4-5 ranked to AA guys with a few on the fringe and we only have one, one seed and 4 picked to place.
This is a tough tourney!
Bosch and Willie said there are gonna be a bunch of guys missing from Cornell and a couple other programs already.
At best, my wife and I are semifinals only. We had coincidentally long been planning a trip to LV. Our plane lands at 8:30 Saturday morning. Going to try to dump luggage and come straight there.

I like Reece but I would rather see how Cael could do with this top competition at Vegas. Just based on 1 being a freshman and 1 being a senior. But if they wrestle off you most likely go with those results. Also, could because cutting for 2 days was not something Hughes wanted to do during the holiday season and being so early in the season. I would send Cael Hughes and Cody Merrill to the Southern Scuffle to see where they stand Nationally.

Well we are all kind of close to the westgate (except you downtowners) so it could be almost anywhere there on the strip
How bout y’all meet at the tournament at the end of the first session? The tourney is in Hall N4 at the convention center this year, which is at the back and closest to the Sportsbook at the Westgate. There is a snack bar there in the Westgate Sportsbook that serves bar food and beverages. I imagine most of y’all will be wearing orange. Gather near the head table after the first session?

I will be there also. I have always liked guys from OK. They are so common sense and no nonsense oriented. Looking for ward to meeting some of you and to seeing Oberebo again.

I stand corrected… Hall N4 is near the front closest to Paradise Rd. Still, the Superbook (not the Sportsbook) at Westgate is a convenient place to hang out between sessions. I’ll be at the tournament and hope to meet y’all!
A short sleeve sweatshirt sounds awfully similar to a vest. John Smith would be proud!

Man, this is a lot of information that has almost nothing to do with the tournament but that's great and I'm in (not that anyone cares); Tomorrow on day one I will be spending most, if not all of the day playing with my grandchildren, 5 & 3 1/2. Probably the only thing in my life that trumps wrestling. When they go home (and for all of day 2) I will be on here reviewing the results, comments and maybe adding a few of my own. I hope that everyone who is lucky enough to go has a great time and I appreciate your postings of results (live). Go Pokes, Ride With Pride!

In other news, what's the deal with Cael Hughes? This is a big tournament he should be and needs to be wrestling in. So he's either getting beat in the room by Wittcraft or his cut isn't going to work. Guy was a huge recruit, just won a team trials last summer. I don't get it unless he's not as good as we thought. Some help me.
I am disappointed that he cannot beat Reece into his 2nd season for the Cowboys. He does not look physically sucked out at 133 but who knows. If he can't beat Reece it makes me wonder if he can beat Tagen at 141 or down the road beat Sergio Vega at 141. I am concerned that Cael Hughes may not have a place in the starting lineup in the future. After watching Cael for several years, I was hoping he was National Champ material. Witcraft is a good college wrestler but in no way has he been real good. I tend to be pessimistic because it seems so often, we have big recruits who I hope will be real good and end up just being good college wrestlers. You do not win National Titles with good wrestlers, you need a bunch of real good wrestlers. I have hope that the new staff and RTC can change this? Time will tell.
Reece beat him in a wrestle off. Reece has earned it and hes looked great so far.
Cael may be a solid wrestler but at this point he may not be elite if he can’t crack the lineup this year.
Fish is the guy at 157. Guess that either means he’s the guy going forward, or they’re using him and his 5 dates to keep his RS and let Teague heal. Guess we’ll see.
