I think it is hard to judge how strong Cliff is.. to this point I think he has largely been trying to use space and leaping to block shots... maybe that is because he needs lower body strength to move people.. maybe its just a preference... he has height and length.. he will need strength vs Warnock and Garza
He looks to me to have some pretty sinewy muscle strength already.

This thread is a head scratcher to me. Why compare omoruyi to 4th and 5th year players? All things considered, he’s been very good in my opinion. Probably a bit uncomfortable offensively, but he will get there. Cliff was a big time recruit but he’s not even close to one and done level. Feel like some are holding h

Those players were tier one in year one and Kofi is a sophomore. Cliff has to defend them.
Totally agree with you on the one and done.

Garza's first year, he averaged 12.1 pts and 6.4 boards with 1 block. He was not on the all-freshman team. Kaleb Wesson was.

Second year, he put up 13.1 pts and 4.5 boards with 0.5 blocks. Honorable mention for all conference.

He did not make the leap to elite status until last year, although those were excellent scoring averages his first two years.

Shaq Carter(6'9 250) was a good role player for 2 years avg 4.0 pts, 3.1 reb., but was only serviceable defender in 2019, not as good as Myles, better than Doucoure.

Cliff(6'11 240) *Edit*(forgot it was a defensive argument, doing two things at once)* Defensively is better than Myles, because he has better feet and mobility and why he is starting. I watched a few of his games on tv and online from HS. He played better defensively against better competition, only thing will stop him is B1G ref's "foul calls" he hasn't "earned" yet.

Shaq Carter was a good role player for 2 years avg 4.0 pts, 3.1 reb., but his career high in 59 college games was 9 pts *10 rebs in *34 minutes, *13 PT in 25 minutes all his Jr. Year, 2018-19 when we had less depth. Juco. Transfer.

Cliff has had 3 games, playing 21-22 min., 14 pts 11 reb, 5 pts 3 reb, and 7 pts 7 reb. in his first 3 games as a Freshman. Consensus top 50. Ceiling much higher.
Lol ummm no one is arguing who has a higher ceiling between Carter and Cliff

Cliff will be a 4 yr guy having seen him alot in HS very limited on the offensive side. Hes going to grow offensively every year but you have to let him grow. Based on his body stature he needs to expand his game further from the rim. He does not have a 5ft and in body like Myles.

Where he would excel is on pick and rolls, ally oops, and putbacks his offensive ability is not there yet. Just do not expect too much and let this kid grow.
He never dominated or took over the offense at RC like a Naz Reidof similar height.

In my opinion Myles Johnsin is under appreciated. Hes a really solid center

Cliff will be fine the only other really tough player to guard down low is Garza and other than that he will definitely add those 12-15 important minutes per game

As I wrote the other day and was chastised...there are going to be many delays and unexpected problems getting this to the public ... as long as our leaders get it that’s all you need be concerned with...Keep Them Safe... it’s for your own well being.

Cliff made a nice 12-foot jumper a couple games back. He has a nice stroke from the line, has good footwork on D, skies for rebounds, is a good passer and will score on put-backs and dunks. He also gives us minutes and fouls at the 5 spot without being a liability on the floor. He’s played 6 collegiate games and has already faced one of the top centers in the country. He’ll fine.

Look on the bright side Cliff's here for a minimum of three years, he will learn the game, and get bigger and stronger, and develop offensively as well. Cliff is an excellent athlete unfortunately he missed the usual 10 non league games to get some experience, and he will live and learn on the fly, unfortunately some nights will be tough learning experiences against the better centers in the Big.
