Just a suggestion @Walter Brennaneer, instead of linking directly to facebook on your posts, copy and paste the content onto the board.

While I do have a Facebook account, plenty do not and many more (including myself) don't want to blog on their website. I personally can't stand Facebook, their ads, reels, people you may know etc.

It's better to copy and paste FB content inside the board so it's easier to respond to your posts without having to log onto Facebook's website and fight through all their caca. Some members do this with content on X, they will copy and paste the URL into our board's link, so only that content displays on the board without us having to log onto X to read it.

You can find the links to copy and paste FB content in the tool bar at the top of each post you create. Click the "paper clip" which opens a dialogue box where you can paste the url onto the board. (You can also use the "text" title bar below the space for the URL to name your content)

This is better than linking directly to FB, which as I mentioned is a total pain in the arse navigating through.

Just a suggestion.

Yeah, it's pretty much a cesspool of filth and debauchery. I only have my FB account to keep in touch with relatives...I block out everything and everyone else.

I’m a believer in the Dunbar’s Number theory, that’s why I do zero social media, except this board. I try to keep a tight circle and none of my family are really in it (not counting my household, that’s the tightest circle). I run the family you choose model.

Never heard of Dunbar's number theory, but have been running it most of my life . A short period during my divorce I was on S.M looking for vajj but quickly learned it was not a good place to be . This board is my only form and that wont change. The older I get the tighter my circle....wisdom.

That's a good strategy. As I said I only keep my FB account open because it's too hard to reach all of my relatives across the country individually, so our group chats are a time saver on family matters especially involving deceased Aunts & Uncles. On my Mother's side I had 17 Aunts and Uncles, 10 on my Dad's side! So you can imagine cousins, Nieces, and Nephews are virtually impossible to all keep track of without that!

The thing I hate most about FB though is any person you connect with suddenly brings in all the scum they've ever connected with! Then you have to wade through all of their weird posts any time they respond to something on your wall. (ugh)

That's why I block anything or anyone who is not in my immediate Family or friends contacts. I even block some of them too by "snoozing" the more obnoxious ones 30 days at a time! 🤣
