Ah. That Beulaville home cooking the folks at Clinton and Wallace have been complaining about for years. It’s real, folks. The Clinton coaches were irate after that play.
Not complaining I mean if the refs had bad angle they had bad angle….reporter on the sideline caught the whole thing it is what it is….still gotta come out and play in the 2nd half
I was several feet from the play and it definitely hit the ground. The head ref pointed at the linesman to make the call as the closest official to the play and he had no idea what to call. He actually froze up for a split second and then called it a catch.
But this game won't have an asterisk or any of that other nonsense. Clinton still had a couple plays to play defense and prevent ED from punching it in. Those things happen all the time in high school football. It's silly to act as though they don't.

You’re right….…… The East Duplin folks would be reacting completely rational if it happened to them….your wacky radio guy would have had a stroke.

I would be beside myself. I've been on the other end of those calls. It sucks. But it's a part of the game at the high school level. You're dealing with part time officials who don't know the rules who are out here donating their time and calls are going to be missed.

To be clear ED is on paper the better team, the fan vote was for ED, but end of day Clinton is Clinton and we do our best to always make it a game.

Make that 3rd and 20 incomplete pass……4th down….I assume this may be the ball game……incomplete….personal foul roughing the passer wow refs trying make up for past mistakes
