This one is to my fellow Dark Horse followers, have you guys seen or heard about the damage that Hurricane Matthew has done on the school?! Reports are saying part of the roof is completely blown away and the complete first floor is submerged in water......

There was significant damage to the roof of the main gym, and it has been reported that school will be closed all of next week.

l would think it would, especially with all of the roads impassable in Sampson County right now. But who knows?
Something will have to be done. I doubt many games down east will be played this week. Sampson County(my home county) has been devastated by Matthew. Several major state highways are washed out and will be weeks before they can be repaired.
Probably will have to be extended a week not sure if the same venues could still hold the games a week later though.
The gym was the only part of the school that was submerged in water. The custodians had that cleaned up by last night. The roof is off one side of the gym is all that I saw yesterday when I was there. The fence around Dark Horse stadium is blown down behind the home bleachers around the entrance gate to behind the visitor bleachers.
Hearing that both schools have to be open with students at some point this week or no game. Can't just be one or the other, has to be both. Oh and wish the storm would've taken out the press box lol, I get scared up in that thing sometimes, there are cracks everywhere. Just kidding of course but there are cracks in the concrete and if that thing ever goes with someone in it, farewell and adieu to you fair spanish ladies......
I thought the home side of the stadium was supposed to be replaced at some point with more ADA compliant bleachers?
Idk I hope we keep the concrete bleachers, cause if they get replaced I bet it wouldnt be as steep or high or as large, it would end up like midway were the bleachers stretch long but don't go very high and even on the top row it isn't about halfway up of our current stands. Higher the better imo. Better sightlines. My biggest concern was pressbox, bleechers seem fine.
I can see that happening, because when the current bleachers were built, Clinton was a 3A school. But with the cracks in the concrete one would think that eventually the stands would have to be replaced.
Hearing Homecoming is now the same night as senior night on the 28 vs Trask......will the Union game be made up or are they just cancelling it all together????
Saw whwre both Clinton City schools and Sampson County schools closed for the remainder of the week
If not monday next week maybe Oct 24th the following Monday play Union 24th then play Trask that Friday
Will the team practice any this week?o know some are still with out power/water....and alot of roads are still rough
Off topic but Hoggard beat Laney last night 13-0.....remember some of the Wallace guys were saying Laney was better than Hoggard this year
