I think Clinton is PSU pick to take on Bassett for years to come. Seems like he’s just scratching the surface

Side note- We all like to bag on Tom Ryan but can you blame the guy for his Penn State obsession when we have now taken Rocco, Kerk and Snyder from the program. Took two of the best Ohio High schoolers ever out of their backyard (Blaze, Burnett) and have gotten commits countless times when OSU was in the top 3. A man can only take so much
It'll be interesting to see who goes 149 vs 157 between Mangano and Shepherd. Right now Mangano is lighter.
Not to mention Shepherd had anOSU in his Top 8 but not PSU ... and Shepherd attends Mendez's HS.
I’m excited to see how this ages. You might be right, but history indicates this will go into the pantheon of ‘PSU will come back to earth when Ruth and Taylor graduate’.
Based on competitive experience and simple age, Bassett is likely a lot closer to his ceiling than Shepherd. We'll see how this plays out in a few years.
Bassett pinned Shepherd in the Fargo finals this summer. I think Shepherd has a lot of upside, but exercising that is what it's going to take to catch up. Right now, they're not close.
133lb Marcus Blaze made Bassett look inept.
Doesn't have to beat him until about 2028/29, LOL.
Taylor was the initial Ohio kid Cael took from Ryan. Yes, he is a bit bitter. But hey, he won a dual tournament titled "National Duals Championship" this year! It's all good.
That will change with Shepherd's first year in the PSU room.
Trust that the banner will be hanging soon enough
Boy oh boy. I still can't figure out what Cael is going to do to survive that inevitable '28 onslaught coming from Stillwater!

Sam Herring will be an interesting test case. He's skipping his senior season at Bishop McCort to train in the room. I think that he sees what I do - that he's not a front-line recruit as things currently stand, and that he needs the year to catch up.
Nice answer to OkSt’s 2026 class where they have 5 of the top 11. Are PSU and OkSt going to alternate monster classes?

I think we’ll have some nice additions in 28 as well. I’d say a much more talented class top to bottom than 27
That's how spoiled we are. Herring was #21 on Flows 2026 big board. That's a very high ranking.
I am positive the year in the NLWC room will benefit Sam tremendously. The thing to remember though is not everybody is as likely to benefit as much as Nick Lee and Levi did.
The Class of 2028 does not impress me. Three great kids at 157 - Howard, Heeg and Staples (we already have one), Sammy Sanchez, and that's about it.
I think it’s a really good top 10. As long as Sanchez and Howard pick the good guys I’ll be alright

I don't know - 113 is decent, but not loaded. Then who? Tovar? Ruiz? Solis? O'Farrill, maybe, but he's out for the year.
The 2 heavyweights are very good (Hoare and Hazelett). Hutcherson, Bachmann. I really like O’Farrill but people are questioning how he will do at the next level being so short which I definitely understand. I’m not sold on Kenny though
Wouldn’t be the first time we lose, or pass on a top ranked guy, pivot to the next guy and make him better than the first one!
Let's hope he has the same level of success that a prior Indiana recruit - Nick Lee - had.
