We started out a lil sloppy which was expected being the first game but looks like we are in our groove now offense was hitting on all cylinders...defense looked good as well forcing 3 turnovers AJ Williamson has done a great job stepping up after Rayquan Faison injured early and its looking like he may be out awhile...Dre Oates stepped up in place of Faison on offense and had a huge TD run....lets keep it going....I expect Lewis to call off the dogs soon especially if we have another quarter like we just had...GO HORSES!!!!
Umm. Southwest played better and showed that all is not lost. Clinton was the better team, but have some injury issues to address after tonight (hope both players can return to field soon).
Thank goodness SWO went back to smashmouth football, and looked good at it. Early turnovers after strong drives prevented this from really being a good game. Best part of SWO is the Oline and Dline and it is starting to show. SWO cannot protect the edges and the secondary sucks. I can say that some of the sophmores did show that the future is brighter than I first thought.

Agreed SWO played with Alot of heart and did not give up...ran the full house backfield like us...think y'all will be fine going forward maybe we will see y'all again in the playoffs.......if it was not for some early turnovers this might have been Alot closer SWO failed to score twice inside the 10 (fumble,turnover on downs)
Injury wise Kavon Dessus#3 should be OK he returned to the game....Sounds like Rayquan Faison #23 could be out awhile dnt know the seriousness of his injury but sophomore AJ Williamson #57 filled in nicely really stepped up
If Clinton's Oline gets a little better they will be right back in the same position as last year. Skinner is the real deal, he just gets stronger as the game goes on a D 1 RB for sure.
Ninja so what would that Northside Jacksonville score be again? They will beat us by how many? After seeing how White Oak looked tonight and Northside I tell you what next week should be interesting. I am definitely looking at White Oak and Jacksonville to be a good game. Would not be surprised if that average at best team scored at least 35 next week. Your totally insane if you think Northside will beat Jacksonville by 30 points. Allot of hype White Oak tried to give them the game. They drop two touchdowns. Coach Leary has himself a nice group of athletes over there.
This is what bothers me footballaholic. JACKSONVILLE IS 3A, and yes Northside and SW are dominate programs, but for your 3a team to be above average you should be destroying these teams. We can all agree SW is rebuilding this year, and it is 50-50 if yall can beat Northside. For a 3a team that makes you average. I prefer the term solid, but it all means the same.
3A doesn't mean that they should be better. It just means that they have more students to choose from. Did u see what Wallace 1A did to Laney 4A last week? 2A Greene Central beat 4A South Central by 40. I dare not say that anyone's opinion is wrong. But will say that I disagree.
Clinton has athletes all over the field. Once they get a couple games under their belts then the sky will be the limit. #15 showed what he can do and only a matter of time before #5 gets going. I see multiple D1 athletes on this team.
For my 14,000 post since 2001 I'm really proud of our DarkHorses tonight. Some predicted a wild blowout, but for this young DarkHorse's teams 1st game I predicted 35-14. The 35-7 score exceeded my expectations . They got stronger as the game wore on and they got the feel of the game. The two injuries concern me though at this point they may not be serious. Some people stepped up. The new offensive line is establishing themselves. Skinner had 229 yards and was a beast. The 62 yard run was a highlight reel run. The remainder of his yards were workhorse, yards I mean DarkHorse yards. I love them all but this young man is special. SouthWest is not the terribly bad team some may have feared. They're going to win some ball games and they need to get back to smashmouth the way the switched to tonight. I believe this DarkHorse team may ultimately become (barring multiple injuries) one of the most interesting offensive teams we DarkHorse fans have witnessed, and that's saying something! The rebuilt defense didn't do bad either!
I agree with everything you said Wiz.....Offense impressed me we started out sluggish that first drive but really came together new offense line performed still have room to grow.Sophomore QB is only going to get better but not bad for his first varsity start ran for 2 TDs and throw for 1.....Ryheem Skinner 236 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD...#5 has the ability to be big play just has to get a better feel for RB again he played QB all last year Dre Oates #24 stepped up nicely in the FB spot and should do well moving forward until Faison returns...I think Kavon Dessus will be fine I think Raywuans's injury is a little bit more significant I would not be surprised if he missed the game next week hopefully he can be back for the Hoggard game since we have a bye week before it......new faces on defense performed well....AJ Williamson had 14 tackles stepping in to that LB spot after Faison was hurt....I feel for awhile we kinda let off the gas in the 3rd quarter and gave SWO some life but SWO is not a bad team they play hard they will be fine
The press box gets this TD. They played music almost until the snap. I think it messed up our snap count which turned the game's momentum. It still wasn't enough!!
