Clinton d held up but a facemask give NS the ball 1st and goal in the 5....TD NS 2:38 left in 3rd
PAT good Clinton 21 NS 7 2:38 in 3rd.....penalties hurting on those offensive and defensive sequences still in good shape
Ummm alot of mental errors not sure its nerves or what both returnmen went to block instead of catching the ball.that could.of been bad and then gets a block in the back so we starting from the 8
False start back to the 4 now......and another one jesus this looking like last year...giving NS momentum not a smart thing

The offense looked alot better tonight, but they still have some improving to do, especially discipline wise. The penalties are going to kill us this year if they do not fix it.
The defense was lights out all night, they only allowed Northside a couple of pretty good gains off of run plays in the second half.
Overall I'm satisfied with the victory even though it was a against a down Northside team, a lot of football left to play this season can't wait to see how it plays out!!

Ill take it this time last year we were 0-3....this open week comea at a good time get some guys rested and healed up Smith probably wasnt close to 100% played sparingly didnt play defense.....in the 3rd quarter we got alil sloppy some penalties stopped a big drive and helped NS ultimately score...defense was solid gave up that one big run but besides that NS didnt get past the 50 the whole night....thought we would not be able to replace Chandler Perrys production but this new kicker is legit......some guys stepped up.tonight Butler late had some really good carries and was playing DB....Davion "Boogie" Smith had some good runs.almost broke one big and had a amzing catch Carsen Ellis reliabe hands were clutch on some catches....and Knowledge Evans was looking like Jamar Hicks from 2002 out there tonight had some big runs and some good throws.....overall good win just gotta clean up some lil mental things get ready for Southern Lee
And one of the best stats of the night next to the W is offense had zero turnovers....%1 better each day
I definitely agree that the boys have to clean up the silly mental errors. Three delay of game calls is not acceptable, especially in the third game of the season. But overall, the team played very well. Like DH34 said, this bye week is combing at a great time to allow some knicks and injuries to heal.
Take away the stupid mistakes, and keep improving the offense and I think we will do very good things this year!
Just looking at some of the scores around the area seeing Cape Fear up on New Hanover pretty good 26-7....funny the all knowing football guru "By the Fence" said earlier this week that was a average team we got beat by just because they got shutout by 71st(who is very good and probably going to contend for a conf title with Richmond and Scotland)...Cape Fear is pretty dang good and its definitely no shame in losing to them especially the way we lost
But you got these experts up here talking about the ECC being a 2 team race and that the conf title will be decided when ED and WRH play are some fools.....im not saying we will win conf but we definitely aint the pushover we were a season ago....keep sleeping on Clinton...we gonna surprise some folks
I think there will be more parity in this conference this year. Offense is coming around, but I think the defense is going to carry this team this year.
Exactly i dont see how they were coming to those conclusions after watching 2 ball games.....this year if the top 2 from last season dont wanna take Clinton,JK,or Goldsboro seriously may be going home alil upset
Except Spring Creek lol idk what they got going on down there.....they have athletes the basketball team was decent a year or two ago
Clinton and ED will handle JK this year and of course JK will loose to WRH twice
The ECC is definitely NOT a 2 team league, That's was a 1 season history lesson. If you want to go into history lessons the DarkHorses can do that too! The DarkHorsses are back and will be a hard team to contend with the rest of the way. They will only get better and better and by season's end that could be scary! Still 1% better every day is the goal.
