Welcome back all here are the rules for this year:

1. If you miss more then two weeks picks and I stop keeping your record
2. Picks are due by noon on Friday so others have time to review and ridicule them.
2. Winner of the Cup will be determined by overall wins
3. First tie breaker after total wins is winning %
4. If total wins and winning % can't determine a winner a no holds barred game of Rock, Paper, Scissors will held at Frankie's Deli to settle it.

Here are the games:

EStl @ Batavia

Neuqua Valley @ GBN

Geneva @ Notre Dame

Lake Park @ Dekalb

Lemont @ StC East

StC North @ Palatine

Wheaton North @ DGS

WWS @ Metea Valley

Good luck with your picks!!!

EStl @ Batavia
-
EStl typically struggles early in the year so I like the fighting Ronald McDonalds in a close one.

Neuqua Valley @ GBN
-After going 0-9 last year the schedule does the Panthers no favors.

Geneva @ Notre Dame
-Geneva starts off on the right foot.

Lake Park @ Dekalb
-It could be along year for LP.

Lemont @ StC East
-A true pick em but I'll take STE since they need this game if they want to make the playoffs.

StC North @ Palatine
-Can StN live up to the hype, in week 1 they can.

Wheaton North
@ DGS
-The Falcons should be good, but how much will their best offensive player transferring to GBW hurt them?

WWS @ Metea Valley
-Could this be the year where the Tigers reassert themselves as a state power?

Welcome back @FalconDad_WN what are you thoughts for this year on the Northside?

Great to be back talking DuKane football!

Having 5 kids transfer in the off season definitely hurts, but I'm still pretty optimistic. I think our defense will be very good, and I think our offense might surprise a few people. I think we realistically have a shot at 5 or more wins.

(Winners in Bold)

EStl @ Batavia: GREAT opening to the season for both squads. I am going to go with Batavia due to the drive and Batavia viewing the game more importantly than ESL. High school football at its best will be on display in Batavia

Neuqua Valley @ GBN: Tough way to open a season after an 0-9 campaign

Geneva @ Notre Dame: Geneva is going to be better this year, but I just have to go with the Dons due to their dual threat QB

Lake Park @ Dekalb: Lake Park recently doesn't seem to start fast

Lemont @ StC East: A program like Lemont typically rebounds very quickly after an average season. This will be a great start for their rebound.

StC North @ Palatine: Another GREAT opening night matchup. Palatine will have a much better year, but SCN is just more experienced for an early season game like this.

Wheaton North @ DGS: Wheaton North is going to be one of the most feared teams come playoff time. They're not necessarily a state championship caliber squad, but they will be able to hang with most teams

WWS @ Metea Valley: The WWS program is back to being a heavy hitter.

That’s rough I only knew about losing the RB. They had a pretty talented group they should still be a playoff team and a team no one will want to play.

Are these rules in order of priority? Is that noon central standard time? I'll need to coordinate for my November travel in Indiana and Arizona. This is important.

For you the rules of this game do not apply when ever you want to turn them is good with me.

2 went to Glenbard West - although I don't think one of them is playing football this year, and 3 went to Wheaton Academy. All 5 would have seen significant playing time on Friday nights.

I'm so glad I just saw this thread before the season!
Here you go:
ESL-This is going to sound crazy, but this probably won't be close. ESL has 5 seniors and 3 juniors who are 3 stars or better on rivals not to mention many others who are listed but not ranked. Batavia has Quinn Urweiler who is going to North Dakota, but doesn't even have stars. I realize the stars don't tell the whole story, but this ESL team could be the most talented team in IL and maybe top 10 in the whole country. Heck, they have a kid named Antonio Johnson (plays safety and WR) who has 22 offers including Alabama and Georgia. This is another level of talent. I do love Batavia's swagger and they play well at home, but ESL just has too much..
Neuqua Valley-Neuqua is very deep and got Metea's 2nd best player. But they did lose their QB to Batavia
Notre Dame-Geneva is a Basketball School
Dekalb-Now in DVC and they will be good despite being smaller than WWS, WN, GBN etc..)
StC East-Kids from St. Charles are just better.
StC North-Lots of hype on SCN and maybe a little overrated, but they'll take care of business here.
DGS-I hope I'm wrong, but The Falcons won't be that good. (over/under is 3 wins) You can tell by how coach Wardynski explained his team. "they're a tough group of kids and it was a rough offseason, but we will fill the gaps and be athletic. Their roster sooo thin...
WWS-Not gonna be close. WWS has a lot of talent. Metea QB threw 5 picks in their scrimmage last week.

Any idea what’s going on? That is a lot of transfers in a single off-season.

These are TOUGH first week games, and I feel like most could go either way.

ESL -
I basically rode Batavia's coattails to the Clown Cup Championship last leason, but I don't like them against all the speed on ESL. Still think this will be a great game though

Neuqua Valley - GBN will be better this season, but it will not matter against Neuqua.

Notre Dame - Struggled with this one a lot. I like Geneva continuing to ride the wave from last season, but I remember seeing this ND senior class as freshmen against Benet and gave them a great game. So ND but a TD.

Dekalb - LP is the only team that continuously burnt me last season...

Lemont - Liked their core that is coming back

Palatine - Purely a homer pick.

Wheaton North - Liked this pick a lot more before I heard about the transfers...

WWS - Predicted to be a blowout

Some of these transfers could be considered an "addition by subtraction", but this may be too much to overcome.

I like the sophomore skill guys brought up and hopefully a key receiver can get healthy. Also, sophomore QB Mark Forcucci throws a better ball than any QB WN has had in the last 5 years (since Clayton).

Cautiously optimistic.

So we have 25 players, 13 new starters and 12 returning starters.

Here is what % of players that see the Dukane schools winning

WWS 100%

StN 84%

WN 64%

StE 52%

Bat 41%

Gen 20%

LP 20%

GBN 8%
