An Oxford University (England) group has a vaccine that should be ready to be approved in September. One scientist on in the group said she was 80% certain that it is ready now.

If there is a real vaccine by then it will make a HUGE difference for sports and for everything.

I hope they are right.

They also said if everything goes perfect it will be spring 2021 before available to general public.

They would also need many months to make hundreds of millions of doses.

Yeah I mentioned last night I thought we would have one by June which I was basing it on some articles like what you posted. That would be great for sure.

I posted this in HOB because I thought it was potentially great news for UK sports. I did not mean it to be political at all.

I guess someone thought it needed to be moved. Okay fine.
Well, it is potentially great new for UK and all sports and life in general going forward. I have saw that report also on a different network plus in print. I'm not political and really don't give a damn where things are reported. Oh and there are 3 antiviral drugs that have shown a lot of promise in curing this but not going to tell you where I saw it because of the post that would come. Doesn't make it less true folks, come on.

Props for citing something from the medical literature. With that said, the researcher highlighted admits that a timeline that sees a vaccine brought to production by autumn 2020 is highly optimistic. As in, destroy all other vaccine timelines. The fact that we are seeing vaccine development done by DNA recombination versus attenuation does potentially shrink the wait time but this is far from anything saying that we will have something soon (unfortunately)

I wouldn’t believe that for a minute if CNN reported it. There’s already a vaccine being used that is above average at fighting the virus that’s similar to the measles vaccine.

[laughing]

So which vaccines are average for "fighting the virus?"

And which vaccines are below average for "fighting the virus?"

Your post wasn't political, it's maybe a step in the right direction!

It still would have to go through the vaccine approval process in the USA.

Yeah because Oxford is such a questionable institution.
It doesn’t matter what institution it comes from, FDA guidelines are FDA guidelines and England doesn’t follow them. You hear every year about drugs or treatments that have proven effective in Canada or Mexico that Americans can’t get in America because they aren’t approved in the USA.

I think the FDA may speed this along.
