That's not even an example of single payer anyway ... that would be Medicare, which for all the attempted (and discovered) fraud, works pretty well according to the people who use it.

What? The Va is the epitome of a government run medical system.

You said "single payer" not "government run." The VA is government run, Medicare is single payer.

Lol. The lengths libs go to to justify failed government programs. The VA is single payer, and the Dems once bragged about that fact.

As a veteran I'm not justifying anything that the VA has done, in fact I'm outraged by the indifference and incompetence that's being uncovered on an almost daily basis. But you and anyone else who characterizes the VA as single payer need to learn the difference between single payer and government run.

Lmao. Your defense of this is laughable. It's both single payer and government run and you want this for the American people? Governments are inherently inefficient, in our case extremely inefficient and incompetent and you want government to manage healthcare? OMG.

Libs favorite economist wrote:

Ny Times’ columnist Paul Krugman called the Veterans Affairs Department’s “success story one of the best-kept secrets in the American policy debate.” Krugman wrote in 2006, “The secret of its success is the fact that it's a universal, integrated system.”

Seriously, justify? I'm not justifying anything, nor am I trying to hold the VA up as some shining example of government efficiency. I swear, attempting to have a rational discussion with you and some like you on this board is like trying to teach a pig to sing ... wastes time and annoys the pig.

Once again, "single payer" means the government pays providers, not that it provides the service. See Medicare; also, France, Sweden, Germany, and other social democracies. The VA is a government run system. Anyone who doesn't get the difference shouldn't be trying to talk or write about it.

Medicare and Medicaid arr rife with fraud and abuse. Many many doctors today are refusing to even see Medicare patients. Single-payer would force rationing of healthcare and place the care of individuals in the hands of government officials. One Must be clinically insane to support such a prospect. I am not sure what part of this you cannot possibly understand. Once again, Dems were hailing the vA system as a model for what they wanted.

I agree. Our military is the sole shiny bright spot in a sea of ****.
Our combat capability is the bright shiny star. The machine that runs the military is a charlie foxtrot and if want for contractors they couldn't get out of their own way.

I understand perfectly -- I'm not the one confusing single payer with government run, nor did I say that Medicare was perfect. You need to do some research about how single payer systems work in those countries I mentioned. Your argument about single payer forcing rationing is the same argument used in attempts to defeat Medicare when it passed. It wasn't accurate then and it's not accurate now. We already have rationed care, except it's controlled by corporations. Are you arguing that that's a better system?

Corporations are infinitely better at controlling waste fraud and abuse. If you don't like your insurance company, fire them. How do you fire the government? What amazes me with Libs like you is that you support bigger and bigger government when it has been shown over and over again that Government is simply incompetent. Competition is wonderful for the consumer and with government there is no competition.

Medicare just became my primary coverage. I have had a couple of appointments with doctors, all of which were denied. I will admit I seemed to work great until the rejects came flowing in. I have filed a ton of paper work for Medicare B, Medicare D, and G. I called and I'll admit that the in reaction went well.
Now the jawdropper, it is going to take 10 DAYES to make Medicare my primary insurer.
LMAO. That would not fly in the private sector

Nor does it fly in countries that have single payer systems.

Medicare and Medicaid is a huge fraud. When I moved my mother to Texas a few years ago. A Nigerian doctor contacted me that she would be eligible for in home services. All of the paper work was run through CMS. There was one visit and several months later I was sent a CMS document with a monthly charges for visits multiple visits that did not happen. She receives Medicaid and I am sent, after the fact 8 to 10 months of charges that cannot be verified. They routinely bill Medicaid for services that I could only verify if I were at her nursing home 24/7. Multiply that by millions of Medicare/Medicaid recipients and there is a lot of fraud.
It is analogous to your most popular democratic hopeful running non profit on a server at an unknown location with multiple entities exchanging classified government with no security. BwaHaHaHa.

If you believe that your ignorance index just jumped another 100 points with me.
The government purchasing process is a mess. I would point to that as something the government does very inefficiently. That's one of the major IT hurdles with government, yesterday's technology tomorrow.
