He’s 2.5 years out from being employed here for 10 years , which vests him in the NJ pension system. Does rutgers pension work differently ?
Which this would be something like 18 percent of his salary annually at retirement depending what Christie tier he is in. Three highest years so pike would hook him up at the end here.
I wonder if this will be a factor in his future employment plans?
Obviously, if a pitt or something great comes along next year he is going no matter what. But to be guaranteed that annuity payment at something like 60k or more a year is something to consider.

Dude, you come up with some weird granular stuff sometimes. If he is prudent with his current money, invests wisely and nabs a HC job at a good salary, I don’t think he has to worry about this.

Doubt if he is in the PERS pension system. More likely has something like the RU faculty deal - a 401 plan

When I worked at Rutgers, not as faculty, it was a TIAA Cref 403B plan.
That makes sense.
that said, if Knight was eligible for a pension, he would be far more deserving than, for example, many people who work as part of the port authority….they take massive OT in final 3 years for the pension payout…hence 18 dollars tolls

Ok . Thanks rich guy that doesn’t have to worry about 60k-70k annual lifetime benefit. This is NJ and many here are working class folks.
Do you hear yourself you fool?

Really? You are out of line. Re-read your idiotic initial post and my measured response to your idiotic post. Please grow up and resist your urge to argue for the sake of arguing on these boards.

Me ? I didn’t argue at all. You came into the thread I started and argued with me when the Initial post was just a financial observation.

Listen- I really have no interest in interacting with you because you’re an argumentative dickhead who just likes to start crap on the board. My initial post was just commenting on Brandon Knight’s financial situation as it related to your post. Got it?

Omg . You are something else.
If you have no interest in interacting with me , why did you purposely come into the thread I started to interact with me ?

And you’re full of it . That was not your initial post…here is the beginnings of your initial post “Dude, you come up with some weird granular stuff sometimes.”

Yeah whatever . Sure sounds like a guy that was just commenting on BK’S financial situation . That’s how you start it off ??

Someone wants to argue for the sake of arguing again. What a joy you are…

He was just pointing out the absurdity of your post. BK is not making career decisions based on a $60k pension. That doesn’t mean you or I wouldn’t.
