So sorry to hear this. Coach Oddo was the head coach at Catholic back when I was in HS in the mid 70's when I played at Central Cabarrus. He will be missed, he was a great coach and person. He was the HC in the Shrine Bowl in 2013 when my CC QB Hasaan Klugh was the North Carolina QB in that game.

Met him several times and I have said this before on this and other sites. Young coaches meet and learn from these older coaches before they are gone. So sad to see another great NC coach Pass, so sorry for the Charlotte Catholic community's loss

After having time to collect my thoughts on the passing of coach and seeing his service today it really reminded me of the true impact he had. 500-600+ people at the service, countless more online streaming it. Everyone from former all-state football players to people who just had him as a teacher there to pay their respects.
As good of a coach as he was, he was a better man. Not sure there are words to describe the loss of Coach in a proper way. I will be forever grateful for the impact he had on my life and for the example he set, not just for me, but for the thousands of players, students and others who watched him and saw how he treated people and how he lived his life.
I'll end with this. Last night we were in a dogfight of a game, one I'm sure Coach would've loved to be at. With 14 seconds left, down one, our QB threw up a ball to the endzone. As if touched by something else, the ball was batted by a Cuthbertson player and instead of going to the ground it almost hung in the air after for a second before falling into the arms of our TE in the endzone.
You can say what you want about physics and all of that, but I believe that was Coach looking out for us last night.
God Bless You Coach and thank you for everything.
