Here is the most important question. Will Chesney have a slot for Jerry Neuheisel? The younger Neuheisel arrived at Westwood as a college freshman and now 12 years later has never left. He can go back to being the QB coach.

Kentucky starting and ending their coaching search in less than 24 hours while Penn State sits on their hands has been one of the funniest plot twists this year.

Best hire so far in my opinion. These are the up and coming young star coaches who will shape the BIG TEN for years to come. Nebraska missed the boat on this one because they were afraid to take a chance on a young up and comer. Nebraska will always go after retreads and the results will always be the same, wash rinse and repeat and it sucks.

Wasn't Frost considered an up and coming young star coach?

This is probably true!

In a few years, the Big Ten will look more like Oregon and OSU and way less like boring *** iowa and minny.

Gone will be 60 play games and milking the play clock in the first quarter.

Not a chance, he was lightning in a bottle and was what the big donors screamed for, he was fools gold and I admit I was fooled myself and not ashamed to admit it.

Yea in year 2025.. Back when he was hired he was considered a young, up and coming star coach
You have to have a proven resume and Frost had one great year at UCF and it was fools gold, he caught lightning in a bottle. Chesney has that proven record and will win and with the talent in Southern California, watch out. UCLA has what I call the NOTHING TO LOSE mentality just like Indiana had, mark my words or mark my post for future retorts if you like this hire will come back and bite Nebraska in the back side hard.

Frost was considered and up and comer and was also fools gold. We were all fooled by our own sad delusions. It had to work. Until it didn’t. Now we have team mom and average results, fearful to take the leap again so our hopes are that mom hires some good coordinators. Basically, we are ****** unless the unthinkable happens

The oddest rumor right now about a possible coaching hire is PSU looking at BYU's Kalani Sitake is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which is a strange mix to me to live in Pennsylvania but what do I know.

Penn state is turning into a disaster. This has Steve Peterson/Solich/callahan situation written all over it. Who fires the guy that went to the cfp semi finals last year half way through the season without having someone lined up before hand? Kraft really over played his hand in this.

Honestly, I could have named 20-30 potential hires and still the name Sitake would not have occurred to me. He's a helluva good coach.

He was the most sought after coach in his class. So much so that the national media clamored for him to go to Florida instead of his lame *** alma mater. The national opinion was Frost was too good for the Nebraska job and could do better somewhere else. We obviously broke him into little pieces, so they might have been true.

This is how I remember it too. Anyone thinking the Frost hire somehow falls on the list of Nebraska's administrative missteps doesn't know what they're talking about. Yes, it ended up not working. But there wasn't anyone on earth who wouldn't have made or supported that hire when it happened. He wasn't a retred or unproven or whatever people are claiming with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. He was THEE only logical hire at the time.
