Many comments here are accurate, some arent. Both BC and PSU were committed to a person of color so some names were immediately off the table. But accurately,BC is a football and then hockey school and PSU is a football school. The situation at Hoosier land became more dire with the 3 losses to Rutgers, but if a donor, probably Cuban had not put his hand in his pocket then Archie was safe. No doubt that they are targeting Beilein and Drew, but Drew will play them for a Baylor raise. Baylor is a better job right now. Moser to DePaul seems certain and Musselman and Craig Smith will be in play at Minny. It is laughable when Steve's name is mentioned. He is a lifer here. Knight does not seem to be getting traction anywhere to date.

wait.,...Pike's name is actually mentioned for Minnesota...lol...who is starting those rumors. You do not leave Rutgers for Minnesota. I have heard that maybe the Utah St or Col State coach for Minny too

Moser to DePaul seems certain

I would be shocked if Moser went to DePaul. DePaul barely paid their last coach more than he currently makes and Loyola can probably give him a little raise.

Also assume Brian Dutcher will be the main target in Minnesota.

Dutcher will likely be involved with Minnesota also.

He's a Minnesota grad and reportedly has a reduced buyout at SDSU specific to the Minnesota job

Let's evaluate some of these comments. Start with this:
Steve and Danny have dream jobs. They make oodles of money. Neither are NBA coach types. Sweet 16 or not,UNC, Kentucky or Zona are not running after Steve. The only viable offers would be from Cuse or maybe Maryland if Turgeon really has burn out and I can guarantee that Steve has no interest. An extra million over 6 years is chump change after taxes. Moser is Chicago through and through but DePaul needs to up the ante to 1.8 or so to keep him away from say Minnesota or the dozens of jobs which will be open a year from today. He played SJU like a fiddle a couple of years ago.

The coaching carousel is not as interesting as years past....I am not sure why but I think the path of patience is what matters the most.

If you are Indiana, you gave Archie Miller 4 years....when was the red flag up on Archie.....was it Year 1 at MSG vs RU....was it Year 2, just missing the NCAAs.....Year 3, I think IU would have made it (but covid19 hit) and would that have changed the donors to keep him for Year 5???

Minnesota and PSU....do they have a full commitment to win....I think Minnesota does, but PSU is still a "not sure".

The whole extension game is really the interesting part....Willard secured an extension from SHU by being attached to the Virginia Tech opening.....if you are Porter Moser, are you expected to dance in 3 years at DePaul.....4......??.....5..???? That seems like a tough rebuild.

I think the expectations get raised and every program has to now make a decision on not just coaching staff but is this coach the right fit for the location, fanbase, alumni??

Pittsburgh hired Jeff Capel and he has had 4 transfers out since late February and may have 5 ships open....and recruited 3 4* kids in 3 years.....all 3 kids have since transferred....if you are Pitt and don't win next year while replacing the Kevin Stallings mess left behind, do you give Capel another 2 more years.....3... .??

It's not very chaotic for RU fans right now....because we have stabilized the program....if transfers happen after this season, it used to be considered a death sentence.....now.....???? it's an opportunity to improve your roster.......

Pikes extension last year has essentially eliminated any noise of his name coming up for other jobs.....and the later you extend a coach, the more expensive it typically is.....

I think the one job that could open, that hasn't been mentioned is Miami.....something seems to be missing down there.....

I wonder who is getting the Fordham job. Shaheen? Grasso? Maybe Brandin backfills for whomever gets that? Not sure what level of a conference is reasonable to expect him to get his shot. NEC, MAAC, CAA, Patriot? Assuming Hobbs has less interest in another go as an HC?
