Yep. And we had that and recruited to our system better than anyone back in our heyday.Talent evaluation, regardless of stars, also matters.

It’s not possible to give 110%. Max effort is 100%.He gets guys to give 110% and they’re in the right spot nearly every time. Hard to beat
My dad must have told me a million times not to exaggerateIt’s not possible to give 110%. Max effort is 100%.![]()
No do average age of roster
Sounds like you. If you know so much, why don’t you apply?Almost like they don't have a clue what to do or how to do it.
Sound like anyone we know?
Because there was no competition. It was OU who owned us, TX, ND, USC, etc. Parity hurt Neb more than any school. Not sure if we’re even considered a blue blood outside of this board.Yep. And we had that and recruited to our system better than anyone back in our heyday.
Do we have enough to pay talent that gets us a top 25 team?Being able to pay that talent matters.

The one thing that I would worry about as an Indiana fan is his propensity to rely on 1 year transfer portal QBs. Indiana has no depth at QB. If the transfer gets injured there could be a significant drop off in QB play. Next year is no different, they bring in Hoover and only have young Mendoza and 2 other lightly recruited QBs on the roster. It's a testament to Cig as a coach. Looking more and more like a late stage coaching hall of fame candidate and more. Still lots to prove, but my eyes tell me what they tell me. It's no fluke and repeatable.
Do you think we rank 50th in NIL funding?Being able to pay that talent matters.
I’m going to assume based on the coaching and discipline exhibited by Indiana that if their #1 QB goes out, they will have a much, much, MUCH better prepared backup than what Nebraska displayed. The one thing that I would worry about as an Indiana fan is his propensity to rely on 1 year transfer portal QBs. Not everything is compared to a 7-6 Nebraska team. I didn't mention Nebraska in my response.I’m going to assume based on the coaching and discipline exhibited by Indiana that if their #1 QB goes out, they will have a much, much, MUCH better prepared backup than what Nebraska displayed.
It’s the narrative he keeps pushing, that we don’t have enough money. This, despite Rhule saying we do, and also that we aren’t pissed about not being in the playoffs, but rather that we are pissed about looking like hot garbage on the regular. Just give us a team that has a set of nuts and look like a team. We should have more than enough money for that, no?Do you think we rank 50th in NIL funding?
I am posting about NU football stuff. I suggested that you apply to the staff. Kinda weird how you couldn’t figure that out, no?I post about NU football stuff.
You post about me.
Kinda weird, no?
I feel like this is probably pretty close. NU could eventually rank much higher.
NU big time money has a choice: NIL, or start building the buyout chest. I think they have to be heavily considering the latter and, if so, it comes at the expense of the former.

What is also interesting is how many G5 transfers are starting for these teams
seems like there's incentive contracts too..bama and indiana players looked the same size but indiana players were hustling alot more..What is also interesting is how many G5 transfers are starting for these teams
Indiana-11
Oregon-7
Ole Miss - 8
Miami - 9
Out of 88 starters in the final 4 between 1/3 to 1/2 are transfers from G5 schools. That doesn't include FCS and lower level P4 or it easily would be 1/2. At this point th name of the game is unapologetic talent acquisition and ruthless roster management, combining a willingness to expend resources and a mindset of production > potential.
Do I think Cig is a very good coach- absolutely. Do I think it’s repeatable- as long as billionaire Mark Cuban’s $$$$ continue to flow into the program and enable them to maintain a roster similar to what they currently have, definitely. The days of program builders and player developers as coaches is over, and is the reason older coaches who were recognized as masters of that, have hung up their whistles. Today’s programs are built by $$$, a system that is unsustainable and will implode at some point without guardrails which currently are not within sight. It's a testament to Cig as a coach. Looking more and more like a late stage coaching hall of fame candidate and more. Still lots to prove, but my eyes tell me what they tell me. It's no fluke and repeatable.

Yes. Top 25 shouldn’t be that damned hard. Look at some of the ranked programs but you can’t get rolled by the stinkin Gophers.Do we have enough to pay talent that gets us a top 25 team?
No. I think we rank 50th in being able to attract portal players regardless of what we pay. I think we have to over pay for lessor talent. We still should be fielding a top 25 team.Do you think we rank 50th in NIL funding?
Correct Bo P's talent evaluation was pretty darn good even if he was a lazy recruiter.Talent evaluation, regardless of stars, also matters.
Yes and our talent rankings have always been better than Indiana.Do we have enough to pay talent that gets us a top 25 team?
Sounds like a major indictment on Rhule and staff if this is the case... That being said, our portal ranking was top 25 last year, and at the moment, it's top 25 this year. So maybe not as bad as you'd think? No. I think we rank 50th in being able to attract portal players regardless of what we pay. I think we have to over pay for lessor talent. I’m not arguing that Rhule has been underwhelming so far. Indiana has actually recently had a group of higher star ranked starters than we’ve put on the field. They’ve actually had multiple coaches including DeBoer climb the ladder over the past decade. Sorsby started out at Indiana.Sounds like a major indictment on Rhule and staff if this is the case...
