Unbelievable that Nebraska punted on 4th and 3 inches. Seriously, your basically saying Martinez cant gain a half a foot behind the interior GCG ….. or maybe its an admission that the OL is just that bad. Either way, its waving the white flag.

The Martinez interception was unnecessary deep in their territory...I blame the call more than Adrian. Ozigbo was doing so well all game long and on that drive...why deviate. Just ride him to the end zone.

Also, we go for 2 consecutive passes for incompletions and were stuck at 3rd and long situation and what does Frost call? A run up the middle. I just dont understand the logic..

Frost didn't even hesitate sending the punting unit out there with six inches to go, but even as bad as your fourth down percentage is, you keep the offense on the field and try for it. The game wasn't necessarily lost there, but it tells your players that this is the game we win, this is the first down you get.

If the staff doesn't show confidence in the players, I have to wonder can you buy in to someone who doesn't believe you can get a few inches? I would understand on 4th and 1 but inches...inches ffs

On fourth and inches, I'd go under center, two more Olinemen, and feed Zig. I hear the argument---"they are going to know what we're doing"!! WTF makes you think they would not know that if we do it like we do currently. This game really kicked my *** from their onside kick to the end. PLEASE----GBR.

If we go for it on 4th and short and we lose you blame coaching

If we throw the ball on 3rd down on the last drive and throw an incomplete pass and stop the clock leaving them with a TO and the same outcome happens, you blame coaching

No matter what happen today you were going to blame coaching.

Our D had 2 4th & 10’s and if they stop either one, we win. The players failed to make the play.

We're 0-6. You blame the coaches. Enough with the excuses.

It's amazing how bad NU has been on 4th down.

There were so many opportunities to close this out as a win. But the thing that sticks with me is this:

In OT, it's 3rd and 1 at the 16th, and we get a false start penalty, making it 3rd and 6. There are no words to describe how awful that penalty is. Just beyond stupid. Off the charts stupid.

Of course, NU gets 5 yards on 3rd down making it 4th and 1. Bad snap rolls behind Martinez and he's forced to run for his life and chuck up a prayer. There are powder puff football teams that could execute a successful snap to the QB in that situation, but NU managed to f*ck it up.

I'm only partially tongue-in-cheek when I suggest NU players f*cked that stuff up on purpose. It makes more sense than to suggest they are so woefully incompetent that they can't execute basic stuff that Pop Warner teams can manage without error.

This loss rests squarely on the shoulders of Scott Frost and the entire coaching staff. Never seen such terrible team management/ coaching....the players did enough to win but could not overcome horrendous coaching by that offensive genius on the sideline

I really agree with almost all here! It will drive you crazy trying to figure it out after the game! Talent wins in all scenarios that takes place in a game situation! After onside kick recovery Scott played not to lose! First down wins game! With talent you win in both scenarios!! We are not very good!! 0 and 6!!

Players proved in every way possible that they don't deserve trust. Couldn't sneak it at the goal line, couldn't get stops on D when they needed it, botched snap on 4th down in OT, sack fumble for 6, killer interception in NW territory.

They're right to coach like that. The players piss it down their leg in pressure situations.

We are going to be fine in the long run, but it does worry me that the pressure seems to be getting to Frost in some ways. Conservative play calling down the stretch, shorter fuse. Can’t let this fishbowl change who your are and how you coach.

It's also putting the game on the shoulders of the 120th ranked defense in the nation, which is ridiculous.

Michigan, Wisconsin and other Big Ten schools do. Many don't, but I find it hard to see Nebraska without one, based on the history of the program and often how Big Ten football roles.

Hard to compare Wisconsin and Nebraska w/ Barry Alvarez to what Scott Frost wants UNL to be again.

Concur.

So much wrong with the game today but that series in OT is completely, totally unexplainable. Centering around........ unbelievable, unexplainable, never ending new ways to totally **** things up in regards to the o-line.

A theme that has been prevalent in all 6 games this season. And was prevalent today. First play from scrimmage....... false start. In OT we have some flow getting right where we want to be on third and 1 getting ready for a couple shots to get into the end zone ...... false start. Immediately followed up by rolling the snap back to Martinez.

Someone mentioned the possibility of point shaving in a previous thread with the sheer volume and untimeliness of “mental” o line breakdowns and **** ups this season, it has been the singular thing that has been consistent this season.

While that’s a bit of a stretch, I’m beginning to think that there’s something wrong along those lines. I can’t believe that this unit, now after spring ball, fall ball, and 6 games in, still cannot execute the most basic elements of their position.

How did that work out for Frost today? We were 0-5 going into today. Time for Frost to grow a pair.
