I guess we will see how it works out and then we will see who gets to leave childish emoji's. You guys can wish in one hand and **** in the other, JB will not be the Iowa coach and wont be "asked". He was good in college and one of the best in freestyle, but fairly one dimensional. Its not just about the name and fame, sorry to burst your emoji's.

Many people will be disappointed as they always seem to be regardless. I'm with you JB will not be the coach at Iowa in the future. He's starting a club outside of Philly in NJ he bought an old CVS

Calling Jordan Burroughs one dimensional just means you don’t understand what you’re watching.

The footwork and hand fighting required to set up his shots at the freestyle level is a clinic every single time he steps on the mat. He’s not just shooting doubles, he’s manufacturing angles, and controlling ties to create exactly the opening he wants.

That setup game alone is worth a coaching career. PSU dominates the hand fight and has elite footwork which is why their guys make it look easy sometimes.

It is telling to me that the two chief brands defenders don’t know jack about wrestling…

I don’t agree with you on the coaching situation, but I do admire your loyalty.
Do you actually know what I think about the coaching situation and what it should look like in the next few years? I have stated it here a few times, But Im curious if you know what I actually want to happen

never said he did not have good foot work and hand fighting abilities, he speaks very well and has a very good vocabulary also. I enjoy his commentary, very non biased towards Nebby also.

You're wrong about rev share . The # will be way more then what you said . Triple that at least 🤷. Donors will help but with NIL Go now NIL has to be legit business not just donor $. And the average NIL Go deal now is under 10K
Heard an interesting story today from a buddy. His brother works with the fort dodge assistant coach. Said they were driving one day and Ross calls, says coach i have a question, i got $5k in cash in my bag and I’m not sure what to do with it. Coach asks, well where did you get that kinda cash?! Ross says, Ok State.
Iguess Ok State isn’t too worried about the NIL Go system…guessing they aren’t the only ones

And many names said here prove people don't have their finger on the pulse .

Not sure this is true or not, but it would not surprise me. I could not believe the behavior I saw between one of their "donors" and the young "men" recruits. Extremely smart by the way on "their" part!!!

Most of us know JB isn’t going to be the HC soon. We know Nolf isn’t going to be an assistant. We know not much is going to change. Doesn’t mean we like it. Cool you have more insight into what happens with the program. Perhaps that’s why you are so blind to the state of things.

My buddy just brought it up today while talking wrestling. And his brother, who I also know, would have no reason to make something like that up. Can i say 100% it happened, obviously not, but i believe him. And there’s only 1 reason to give him cash, trying to hide it 🤷‍♂️

Might be true. But people reacted to your comment about not even being on your list of people to call. Not really to any of this.

This is not me saying he’s going to be the coach at Iowa but he’s on record with his interest in coaching in college.

Despite the allure of running a kids club out of an old CVS, apparently.

I believe you’d like Terry moved to HWC, Tom staying put and getting new assistants. Like I said and I mean it I admire your ride or die mentality with the Brands. I would love Terry taking over the HWC which I think he already runs anyways;we just call Dennis the coach.
I just don’t agree with keeping Tom as head coach any longer.

He was quick twitch with a great double. Can that be taught to anyone? Was JB top game in folkstyle something that people were impressed by?
When Ed Ruth became a coach everyone was so excited and what he was able to do was because of his body type and athletic abilities those things aren't things that are teachable to others.

At first it was all about the double but he evolved over time. I think his best wrestling was in 2015ish...he could still hit his double but varied his leg attacks, his defense got better plus he was able to handfight with the Russians/Iranians vs just shooting from space.

JB was 2x NCAA champ and 3rd place finish as a sophomore (Metcalf won that year and beat JB in the semis). Won a Hodge his senior year.

Metcalf 2x NCAA champ and a runner up. Won the Hodge as a sophomore. Obviously metcalf was robbed of his freshman year.

Pretty comparable careers in college.

I would also say that Metcalf was ready to go right away. JB was a dude nobody knew or heavily recruited. Took him winning the NHSCA for Nebby to notice him late in his senior year IIRC. BTW, if I have to give credit to Nebby, it's finding guys like that. Some very good "lower tier" recruit evaluation going on there.

Or Brent Metcalf, or Tony Ramos, or Derek StJohn..... Do I need to go on?

Those guys all left on their own I think...Zadick and Hand were fired.

Zadick fired from Iowa or Iowa State? Ramos left on his own after the 2016 trials and Dan Dennis. DSJ wrestled a few uninspired freestyle tournaments and bounced. Next thing we knew, he was up at NDSU on staff.

But it’s funny how perspective can change as one starts to see the end of the road as a competitor.

True, Kemerer was going to get a real job, wanted to live back east.

Next thing you know he's coaching.

<<Brent should absolutely have been added to the staff when he graduated.>>

I should have bought Nvidia stock or Netflix stock when he graduated. Really easy to look back.
When he graduated he was more focused on hunting then getting good enough to win World Titles. He was focused on himself. If you believe a teammate of his, he had zero interest in helping other people get better, only himself, when he wasn't in a tree stand.
Maybe he has changed, maybe the above isn't a true reflection, but it's really hard to look back.

What graduating athletes right now will make great coaches worthy of a spot on a top team ?

You guys are acting like We think he will actually be the next coach. We know he wont be because Brands are not going anywhere. But to pretend he wouldnt be a homerun proves you two are just ball suckers.. Stop pretending to be connected because the only thing your connected to is Toms nuts.
