Merrill is a low ceiling/high floor type IMHO.

I agree with this take. While at the end of the day we all know how important it is to stack P4P recruits, but this is a weird get imo. Hvy and 125 are the only weights where we have young talent ready to step in. We need replacements at the rest of the weights.
Who are these people? Heās certainly ahead of Mocco but we will see what that looks like in a couple years.
Merrill gave Ross a very close match at U20. I believe Merrill had a lead with around 30 seconds left and Ross got the takedown.
Merrill is very physical and good positionally, but has limited offense compared to guys like Ross and Mocco in my opinion. Weāll see how it plays out this weekend and in the future, but I agree with the opinion that his ceiling is not as high.

low ceiling- due to his limited offense, not sure heāll ever be a top 3 guy.

Merrill is the #2 ranked 285lber in the country who is currently behind Ross and ahead of Mocco. It's a great pickup for ISU. Merrill is a stud. The interesting part of the dynamic for me is that his brother is at OKST and Ross is going to OKST to be their 285.

What part of my statement is hysterical? It is always interesting when there are brothers that attend competing schools. Are you saying it is laughable that Merrill is a stud? Or do you think it's hilarious that apparently there is a feud between two brothers? I don't know anything about the two brothers personal relationships but if that is true that they don't speak then that is a bummer. Both are very talented wrestlers.

If you didn't know they weren't in contact, i let you in on that fact. So it's a slight chuckle to those of us that know (you are now included), that there's no way they were ever going to end up on the same team.
