... on that uncanny impression of Dave Ragone last night. Takes real effort to spend that much time on your *** in the backfield. #Heisman

He is an outstanding QB but it will interesting to see if that UL loss the way they lost takes him out of front runner status.

I can't see giving that trophy to a dude that was sacked, what, 8 times in one game... and he's known as a running QB. Has to hurt his chances dramatically, I'd think. WHat may be saving him is the complete lack of competition this year.

He's a great qb and one game, in which the whole team failed, doesn't change that.

Hope, in the near future, we can get one just as good.

I disagree. His "escacpability" was in short order last night. His line has failed him before and he made hay with what he had. Houston ATE HIS LUNCH, line or not. Look at all the arm tackles with hands full of jersey that brought him down.

He's a decent running QB, but I refuse to suck him off in jealousy like some in this thread. He's human, as CLEARLY proven last night.

Besides, he looked just as bad against Wake. Wake sucked just enough.

Wait till next year when Jackson decides it isn't in his best interest to run as much as he did this year because he doesn't want to not get injured before the draft. It looks like it happened with Watson from Clemson this year. He seems to be checking out of called runs to throw the ball instead.

The guy is a great player and I'd love having him at UK, not going to jump on him for a bad game because his OL fell apart and gave him zero protection last night. OP, you telling me you wouldn't want him in a UK uniform, really?

you just karma'd UK into getting their *** kicked next Saturday! He'll go off for 300+/150+ now.....

I don't like to talk crap about a player or team prior to having to meet them. It's never worked out in my favor.

He's still one of the greatest college QBs ever!

There are some classic cases of denial going on in this thread. Some UK fans acted the same way with Bridgewater. It just makes people look dumb. Lst night the reason UL looked so bad was not just because UL's OL was exposed but the team defense of Houston was lightening fast across the field.

I'm just not sure who can take the trophy from him. He is going to put up arcade numbers against us next weekend to give a good lasting impression (although no one will watch the UL/UK game most likely as it has no meaning beyond UL/UK fans now). I mean the Washington QB played awful his last game...the Michigan defensive player? Never bought into that one. I know the Alabama DL guy has been thrown around? Again, not buying a defensive player wins. Jackson is going to have 50+ TDs and someone is really going to have to amaze to overcome those stats IMO.

I won't blame him for the sacks (most of those are on his OL). However, he threw plenty of horrible passes that helped contribute to last nights drubbing.

He is still the best player in the country and will win the Heismann. His Oline is crap. That Houston defense was extremely fast and their game plan was solid.

And, how is that any different than what was going to happen anyway?

You people are missing the forest for the trees. UK is not a part of this discussion. UK did not play last night. UL not playing for a NC and possibly losing their Heisman candidate after he shat the bed is the GD point. Go bash UK in another thread.

I am not a Louisville fan. I am a Kentucky fan. However, I have no problem stating that Jackson is a tremendous football player with freakish abilities. He's been impressive ever since his debut against Auburn last year. Quite a talent.

Hey guys, don't give Jackson any ammunition for when he gets ready to play against us again. You know we have to play them in 10 days and you know they will be fired up and pissed off.

Read thread. Don't care. They were going to beat us anyway and our game with them is not the point... having to listen to them brag about a GD playoff berth for the next 20 years IS THE GD POINT.

I don't think Lamar is reading this board.

I don't see how a qb who was sacked 11 times, if that is correct, can be blamed for throwing some bad passes. Tom Brady wouldn't be real accurate getting hit that much. I don't care for Lousiville or Petrino and Grantham, but a qb getting pressured like Jackson was last night isn't going to look very good. Houston played flawless defense last night. Not a poster on this site or my home site who wouldn't be excited if Jackson was our qb.

Most of the bad passes that I saw were thrown when he was not under pressure. He repeatedly threw at his WR's feet or over their heads. These were short and medium routes.

He has a long way to go to be called one of the greatest ever. He is certainly one of the top5 players today and might still be the best but I don't put him in the best every discussion. That's a really special group and it's a fairly long list that would probably be above him. Right now Jackson is about the level Couch was when he was play for us.

I'm not sure I agree with this. I don't recall many plays total that he wasn't under heavy pressure.

Jackson's stats for the season speak for themselves. It's sad how people can't acknowledge talent. The sacks which there were plenty of and the speed of Houston's defense certainly had an affect on Jackson, that's why there is a stat called "hurried".
